Dutch national team in FIFA 10 News

EA has convinced the Dutch football association to allow it to include the Dutch national team in FIFA 10.

While Dutch players like People's Hero Dirk Kuyt have been playable with their clubs in past FIFA games, it was previously only possible to play as a fictitious Dutch national team, without official likenesses and kit.

Given FIFA's obsession with licensed details, this was a bit of a stain on the brand, especially since rival series Pro Evolution Soccer sorted it out a while ago (and the Dutch team is definitely in PES 2010, for the record).

But that's all sorted out now, as you can see in screenshots of the Dutch national team in FIFA 10.

FIFA 10 is due out for every format under the sun on 2nd October. Look out for our review very soon.

If you're not Dutch you might be wondering why this is news. The KNVB (dutch football organization) are an incredibly greedy bunch of douche bags asking unreasonable amounts of cash to be included in games. Wich sometimes meant that the national team could not be included.

I hadn't realised that some people still didn't want to be in games. Last time I played a football game was ages ago, but I didn't notice that the Dutch were fictional.

Yes, I agree it's very unlikely this is in PES too. That is, say, unless the article says otherwise.

I'm sure it doesn't though so I'm also not going to read it.

Probably everyone else's is. Being Dutch I always find it remarkable how nobody outside the Netherlands (Belgium, South Africa) can pronounce the Dutch 'ui' sound.

Convershely, we have no problemsh whatshoever wish shounding genuinely Queensh Britishsh.

It's actually pronounced more like K-aye-t, but then, when pronouncing the aye, try to bring it more to the front of your mouth. Or better yet, have someone else do it and watch hilarity ensue.
