I loved this first time around, but I remain highly skeptical of all retro-gaming. The draw of co-op is very appealing, but I fear this might just turn out not to be as good as I remember. Will try the demo.

The screenshots I've seen look pretty terrible. It's not even full screen 4:3 with borders at the side. Seem to have borders at the side and the bottom. There are source ports on the PC available for free that allow high widescreen resolutions to be used, all you need to do is copy in the main game files from the CD. There is even one that adds 3D characther models and OpenGL support. It's a pretty lazy port imo.

Doom was awesome. If they do the same, this will be awesome as well.

Yeah, that's a shame but I think that it's an engine thing. They didn't do it with doom either.

They asked the community and everybody wanted a direct port. Can't say I disagree. Doom was more or less a direct port as well and it was awesome. I'm pretty sure that if they ported one of the 'newer' versions with better graphics, it wouldn't have half of the charm.

Yea direct port.

The original companies of these games do not do "enhanced" ports for various reasons (It is not their work most of the time anyway).

Not sure if this will have aged well. I am gonna skip it I think. Doom is enough retro 3D for me ;)

Laser Trip Mines Deathmatch is one of the most glorious Deathmatch experiences ever. Behind E1M7 on Quake 1.

Hold on lavalant - I was playing the SATURN version just a couple of months ago, and that version is excellent.

Plays excellently - loads of fun.

I can't wait for this.
