Droplitz for PC now super-cheap News

PC iPhone News by Ellie Gibson

25 August, 2009

Blitz Games has cut the price of arcade puzzler Droplitz for PC and iPhone.

You can now pick up the former version for just £1.59 on Steam. It normally costs £7.99.

The iPhone game is also going cheap and can be picked up in the App Store for just 59p.

Droplitz involves guiding balls to safety as they fall through a series of gaps, basically. Think classic MB Games title Downfall, only in the future. Good stuff.

Yeah, it's a nice game but I had to look into the forums to learn the commandline arguments needed to even make it run (setting it to windowed) because otherwise it would just freeze my whole PC. I don't think it's a good console port.

I realise it's now super cheap, but why no review Mr. Eurogamer? It's only just come out on Euro PS3, after all

I've played the demo and it confused the heck out of me. Played it some more to understand the mechanics of the game but still didn't get it.

@Uncle_Spanks: There's a good video here that should help it make more sense:

Just a warning to all potential buyers - You might not actually be able to run it.

A lot of people, and myself, are having apparently unsolvable problems starting the game (check the official forum on steam for the lowdown) and Blitz's programmer isn't back until 5th Sept. Complete waste of money, even if it was massively cheap.

You might be one of the lucky few that /only/ needs to mess with the command line, but it's one of the least professional launches I've encountered in a long while (since the Outcast uninstalling automatically after installing debacle of yesteryear).
