Dragon Age surprise on Wednesday

BioWare website promising something.

BioWare is preparing to reveal more about its ambitious role-playing game Dragon Age on Wednesday.

Or at least that's what the official website would have us believe, as it was updated recently to read "More July 9, 2008" underneath what is presumably a silhouette of the logo.

Plenty of speculation about the nature of the announcement has followed on the Dragon Age forums.

All we've heard in any official capacity about the project so far is EA saying it will be out before April 2009, and BioWare talking about it as a spiritual successor to Baldur's Gate and "the RPG people have been waiting for".

They've scrapped it because it has been in development for about five years?

They'll be officially announcing that Dragon Age is vaporware :p (Triggerhappytel beat me to it :)).

I've been a Bioware fan since the days of the Infinity Engine, but they really went ahead and teased with this one just a tad too early, didn't they? When was it? Four years ago?
I certainly hope they've been updating the engine once or twice along the way, otherwise this seems like a candidate for a rather outdated looking game.
But if it's good, probably still one that - along with Diablo 3 - could convince me to become a part time PC gamer again, no matter how much I love lounging in a comfortable chair in front of my PS3 and 40" TV :).

Heh, had to turn my brightness up by 25% to see the logo.

There's about zero screenshots for this.

Well, there are some, but they are as old as the hills.

OMG. Hope the game will be demoed at E3 !

@ Miths : they have seriously updated the engine. EDGE Magazine had a preview almost a year ago and it just looked fantastic. Can't find any decent screenshot on the internet though...

I rate Baldurs Gate 2 as possibly my favourite game ever, so they'd better not dissapoint me when they tell us why this game is such a big deal. I hope they aren't doing 'a Molyneux'.
