Hmm, first?

A "true" sequel to Baldur's Gate would be great. I suppose this is as close as it gets.

"We haven't really talked about what that's going to be, but one thing we're focused on. As folks probably have seen in regards to Mass Effect on the PC, whenever we do a platform choice, we're very definitive and very specific. We don't splash it across all the platforms."

Actually they weren't very definitive or specific with ME which is why everyone was surprised and angry at the sudden, quick move to put it on PC. Ass.

Gritty and realism means grey, brown and black. Generic for typical fantasy setting then. Where was the move away from DnD? Assx2.

Why did Mass Effect being available on PC make you angry?

They were? I for one was glad about the news. Not that it wasn't expected, aynhow.

umm, what was unclear? They announced a release date, almost made it, and launched it

I don't really want a proper sequel to Baldur's Gate. I thought it all tied up quite nicely at the end.

Maybe this is just a lack of imagination on my part...

It didn't make me angry, but I know it made a lot of people so. Bioware forums flared up. Just like they flared during the silly DRM thing.

re: Azazel

This isn't a proper sequel to BG, since Generic Age isn't using the dnd license. It is more of a spiritual one in that the gameplay will be like BG, with die rolls, initiative, saving throws and what have you.

What made people angry was that Bioware spent years quashing any talk of a PC version on the forums, simply stating "Mass Effect is an Xbox 360 game".

So when they announced out of nowhere that there would be PC version only a few months before it was released, a lot of people who bought a 360 because they believed it to be the only way to play the game felt a little annoyed that Bioware had basically witheld this knowledge from them.

At no point in this article does it say anything about Origins being PC-only.

Anyone that didn't think that ME was going to come out on PC must has disregarded Bioware's history as a PC developer, and the fact that even Jade Empire came to the PC after the X-Box.

That said, I don't really see why people were angry over it coming out on PC 6 or 7 months later - it's only a game, after all!

A game that came with less content and a higher price. I'd be slightly annoyed that it was just a mere 6 months an improved version was released at a lower price.
