Dragon Age DLC back up "very soon"
Return to Ostagar will indeed return.
BioWare bossman Ray Muzyka has said it Return to Ostagar, the downloadable content pack for Dragon Age: Origins, is set for an imminent re-release.
"It's almost through certification and it will go back up very soon," he told Gamerzines.
And BioWare's plans don't stop there - "We have a big investment planned for Dragon Age with more DLC coming in the next week or so," said Muzyka. Return to Ostagar launched earlier this month but was swiftly recalled. According to Muzyka, the problem was all in the timing.
"We ran into an issue with a title update simultaneously hitting with Return to Ostagar and there was a timing issue with both of those," he said.
"I don't know if it was a communication error with our distribution partners or what happened there. If they were released in order it would have been fine but it created a bug which prevented progression and obviously that wasn't acceptable so we pulled it down."
Why not ask Muzkya what all the fuss was about yourself, by taking part in our live interview with the man himself? It's taking place tonight at 5pm GMT. Hope to see you then.

Well, if we get to ask him questions, maybe someone could ask why he doesn't know what happened?
edit: just to counteract my negative attitude: I'll be buying it too, Dragon Age was probably my favourite game last year.

Glad to see this is all fixed, props to Bioware for getting it pulled so that they can fix and fully test everything to prevent the nasty surprises that DLC has brought to some games.

Bioware have really impressed me over the past few months. Dragon Age is a flawed masterpiece for sure, but one that I still managed to spent scores of hours playing and came away from having enjoyed them all. Adding to that over the next few months we have more content, an expansion pack with a load more of the same with tweaks and enhancements and Mass Effect 2 looks to be even better... and set in my preferred genre.
PC gaming seems to be making a substantial resurgence.

Awakening is what I'd much rather see them doing more of, full expansions that add a significant amount of content. At this point though, I think I might just wait and see if they do a Game of the Year version, that includes everything.

I was a little worried that episodic DLC was going to replace expansion packs for this franchise and I think that would be a fully justifiable source of irritation. As soon as I heard we were getting both, the DLC suddenly made sense. I would develop some analogy about expensive crudites adding to the enjoyment of your starter, main and dessert but this is the internet and all analogies just become inadvertent troll baiting, so I won't.
edit: I didn't even bother to mention that I'm sure this DLC will be fun and all, and I'll definitely buy it for any more lore/exploration of the setting, but I'm looking forward to the expansion pack much, much more.
