I have the game for the 360 and enjoyed it. But I seriously cannot think about anything that could be enhanced with the tilt sensors (maybe opening a safe, but that would be it). Will be interesting to see how they use it.

That's could be good news... for me anyway if the game is free of the nasty v-sync tearing that plagues the single player game on the Xbox 360. Doubt it will like but I'm hoping that this more expensive and supposedly superior console can run hi-def last-gen game engines without those kinds of issues.

Wow, it didnt take long at all the Xbots to get their teeth into this one. VF5 on 360 months after the PS3 version is a reason to rejoice, but SC:DA on PS3 with extras is a disaster!

for me its more of a price issue. same game that looks the same and plays the same why pay more for it on one console than the other

Does this surprise the xbots? This release of Splinter Cell isn't exclusive - it's Splinter Cell 5 that will only be on the 360.

Not this game was announced months ago. Actually all Ubi games seem to be multiplatform.

And what's the betting that 'exclusive' is time limited, like VF5's?

It's simple economics - the cost of XB360/PS3 development is so high, publishers have no option but to release on both formats so they can spread asset creation costs.

'What's more, the PS3 version of Double Agent will add "support for the Sixaxis wireless controller in single-player and multiplayer modes,"'

I think that means they've had to go through the code and take out all the rumble features :)

Yes, by the time it comes out here, it will be an 'old' game, but the simple fact that the PS3 isn't out here yet is the reason behind that one, so er, what can Ubisoft do? (Apart from release more crap for the Wii...)

er.... whatever they do on the PC?

Unless it has a PSP - PS3 connection like the Gamecube - GBA connection i'm not bothered in the slightest.

The series has gotten really stale of late so much so i havn't even bothered to look at Splinter Cell DA at all.

I've never played a Tom Clancy based game that I liked, be it Ghost Recon, Rainbow 6 or Splinter Cell.

Maybe the stealth is more realistic than MGS, but that's just made it 10 times as dull, in my (admittedly short) experience of the Splinter Cells.

Even after swapping formats years ago, I don't think Sam Fisher is any more interesting to PS owners than Dave Snake is to XBox owners.

I'm kind of glad 3rd party exclusives seem to be becoming a thing of the past though, it'll make 1st and 2nd party devs focus on offering something unique in order to attract people to the hardware.

We get this at launch with Six Axis control; Xboxers have to wait until the end of 2007 to get VF5! LOL! It probably won't even be in 1080p!

Lol, Dave Snake. I never thought of his name like that...but I do now. :P

I'm sceptical about the SC5 360 "exclusive" too. I've been noticing recently that genuine third-party exclusives have been increasingly hard to come by since the end of last-gen, something which the Virtua Fighter news yesterday only further demonstrated; Microsoft have got the right idea in buying up the likes of Rare, Lionhead, Epic and Bungie. It's something Sony ought to be thinking about, because the PlayStation brand was made on third-party exclusives; they can't fall back on first-party in the same way Nintendo can.

Also, I wouldn't pin much hope on the Wii version of DA. From what I've read elsewhere, it sounds like yet another broken UbiSoft Wii port, ie. graphics and other gameplay features traded for poorly implemented motion controls...that'll be another fun comments page.

It is quite shit, I guess the advantage of not making your motion controls necessary is that you can choose to play how you like. And it's not as difficult to port games.

@ Hughes - I understand what you are saying, but third-party exclusives can offer great gaming experiences, look at Dead Rising on the 360. It allows devs to focus all their energies on making it for one single platform. Now that the Wii and the PS3 employ motion-sensing technologies (different ones at that) the same game across 3 platforms probably won't play that great on at least one of them (COD3 on the Wii for example...).

The lack of 3rd part exclusives means that 1st party publishers have to work harder to get better games, I'm all for that.

Sony have produced excellent games like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus and God of War in addition to Gran Turismo.

I also like the Jax and Dextar games and sort of liked Rachet and Clank.

But this gen the stakes are higher....

Is it just me or are Jedimastermalik's comments toning down a bit as of late, the rabid Sony fanboyism that used to spew from every single comment has all but gone :/
But it seems there's a newcomer, another almost unbearable twat snapping at his heels,Foxclose,I mean input like this...
''We get this at launch with Six Axis control; Xboxers have to wait until the end of 2007 to get VF5! LOL! It probably won't even be in 1080p!''
...seems almost to easy to take the piss out of,like he actually wants a flaming....Well I'm going to control myself and ignore it,one of my NYR's is to be more tolerable of people on internet forums :)
