The first man looks like he had a fight with George Foremans grill.

Doesn't look too bad & 2K Sports are usually pretty good with presentation.
Hopefully the game mechanics will be good.
I'm enjoying Fight Night on my recently purchased 360. :o)

But seriously... what 2K sports games have good presentation? Maybe I'm blinded by the mostrosity that is NBA 2k... urgh pukes year on year after hoping they would employ someone to make it look pretty.

JUST MAKE A NICE MENU!

@That_Happy_Cat - Take Two have published some *amazing* games (such as oblivion) but they are not so good at making their own... games that they are only publishing are generally very good :) Sadly, this is 2k Sports... so probably crap then :S

@KingofSpain - I don't think we need to worry about that... pretty much a definite thing... as is Fight Night Round 5, 6, 7, 8, 9... (to infinity)

Fight night is still one of my favourite games on the 360, this looks absurdly shiny and quite possibly a bit rubbish. FN 4. Make it so.

I'm with the majority here, I'm usually first in line to blast EA, but Fight Night R3 on the 360 was, and still is, fooking fantastic. An absolute corker of a game, and sadly from these first shots of Prize Fighter it doesn't even look better than EA's 2yr old effort. So come on EA, instead of all this Need For Speed shite get on with Fight Night 4.
Edit- And what is with the giant monkey face on the first picture's fighter's chest?

I would probably die of a joy overdose if FN:R4 were announced. I too thought FN:R3 was a incredible game. Visceral and graceful and intuitive, and bloody good looking to boot.

However, the FN team has been disbanded. This could lead to :
a) Developers/designers taking over who dont 'get' the subleties that made R3 so great.
b) Retirement of the series.

Anyone know what R3 sales were like?

If they make FN4 they need to make the body shots properly count and do away with the ridiculous super hits at anytime, you should earn these by fighting well, possibly by upping the damage when you string a combination together. Online was a mega disappointment as it was really hampered by people relying on the specials to knock you out without rewarding movement and proper boxing. Anyway I think we've taken this offtopic enough - roll it EA!

Hmm, tough one. On one hand I love boxing games, on the other I don't want to give any money to Don King. Ever.

Hatred of Don King > Love of boxing I think.

"But seriously... what 2K sports games have good presentation?"

I meant the presentation within the game.
NFL 2K5 is still the best American Football football game on any format by a mile in my opinion.
Check out their later 2K8 Basketball & Hockey games & the commentary, sound, cut-scenes, etc are outstanding.
Always have been.

As others have already said the team behind Fight Night Round 3 are no more. That game was, and remains, the greatest fight game ever. The problem with traditional fighting games, ie Soul Calibur and Virtua Fighter, are the numerous combo moves to learn. With this game using the sticks you can weave, block and punch with ease and precision, yet a skilled player could wipe the floor against a noob. No button mashing here. I will buy Prize Fighter, but it has a lot to live up to. Does anyone know if the coming UFC, as well as Prize Fighter itself, will have a similiar control scheme to Fight Night or will that be a button masher too?

@Farticus
FN R3 sold the following :-
360 ~1.6m
PS2 ~1m
PS3 ~0.5m
PSP ~0.3m

So about 3.4m all tolled.

I think projections for another wouldn't have been all that great though. They couldn't just knock out yearly updates as not so much changes each year. In other sports teams change all the time - giving the punters an extra reason to justify the purchase. With FN03 they foolishly left themselves very few places to go by making such a great game within the boundaries of boxing. I'd love to see some of the same people make a different sort of fighting game.

Nonsense there are a bunch of areas they can improve the game. The basic engine is pretty decent but the whole package lacks a lot of depth when you compare it to the kind of options you get in there other sports franchises.
In-fighting and the effect of body shots has never been handled well. The rosters have always been limited too. I understand they need to individual contracts to the fighters but they could of got a lot of up and coming lesser knowns with little hassle i reckon. That aside they never gabe the option to allow players to trade edited boxers or allow the uploading of custom templates for others to download. U cant even upload replay knockouts.
And the commentry has been pretty much the same through the last 3 revisions.
On proof reading it sounds like im being harsh so i shoukld point out that the FN series was a god send to the under serviced boxing sim fan. And it is a top class title with a well balanced fight mechanic. But they set the bar high in the 1st fight night but have imo graphics aside failed to deliver on all the potential the series has for them to stop at 3.

All Fight Night 3 needed was a ring judge, make defense more important and improved A.I; as some fights were to easy to beat. Make the career mode more interesting and training more important (eg: you have to reach a certain distance, weight, and wins for bigger fights) and varied...You'll have a perfect boxing game. Oh! one-punch/lucky punch knock-outs or tipping the balance of the fight to your or opponents advantage made more real...Then it'll be perfect.

The problem I have with these ultra-realistic games is that they tend to have no charm. Give me Rocky Legends any day.

People were asking for all that since FN1, which remins my favourite still.
