DMC4 demo a bit late on Euro PSN

Should be fine if you have a US account.

Halt; Capcom Europe has told Eurogamer that European Xbox 360 gamers will get the Devil May Cry 4 demo the same day as their American counterparts - January 24th.

However it won't appear on PlayStation Network until one week later, to be precise. You could mock up a US account if you fancied downloading it tomorrow, mind.

Sorry for any confusion, we will look both ways before crossing the road from now on.

The game was technically for PS3 wasn't it originally? So this makes me think the PS3 version isn't ready or there's serious problems with the PS3/PSN.

Lazy, lazy, lazy. There's no justification for a delay. None whatsoever. Sony just couldn't give two short shits about us.
  • Beano #4 4 years ago

@DonnieDarko333 : No, it's just the normal EU Store "lag" and not a technical problem. Note the demo will be available on the US and JAP store.

    @ Donnie

Capcoms bussiness model now is to develop all games Primarily for the PC and port to 360 and PS3. Probably due to the fact that PC Dev kits are a fraction of the price of console ones. But as Beano says Sony Europe just arent very quick of the ball when it comes to certification.

Just like Ninty Europe. MS aren't perfect but we generally get things about the same time.

Is anyone surprised? Europe loves Sony anyway, so why bother making an effort?

    @jim

Me. I refuse to do it.
  • Steroyd #13 4 years ago

And only a week delay? That must be some record given that I still see no Super Puzzle Fighter.
  • Aysir #14 4 years ago

Well if you only have a silver live account then you get it the same time as PSN Euro. Thankfully I have an american PSN account so I can get it before Microshaft say I can.
  • Chrono-Kun #15 4 years ago

Come on, it's one week. Not one year =P

So don't bring out the insults on sony are bastards or what not. Because they can't be as worse as NOE

LeD - I'd reconsider if I were you - there's actually a noticeable price difference on some content on there - I deal in Euro, but for instance, the Motorstorm Double Track pack costs €4.99 on PSN Europe, but only $2.99 on the US store - that's the equivalent of €2.05 - a saving of over 50% - for close to zero effort. Of course it works both ways - Tekken costs more on the US store than Euro....but then you can choose. Having 2 stores may well be seen as an advantage.

I have a US account so it doesn't bother me, but I would have thought any gaming journalist worth their salt would have perhaps enquired to Capcom why it was late. I guess minor details like that just aren't important.
  • McLovin85 #18 4 years ago

it could all be some devious Sony PR trick, as by delaying the release everyone in EU will download it from their US accounts and then those figures will be boosted so Sony America will then say,

'Well downloads for demos in USA r 5.6giga million so suck it Xbox'.

Then Xbox returns with, 'Well it's ur EU consumers basically doubling that figure Sony'

To which Sony replies, 'Yeah...well.....u smell'

Either way i'm dling it using my US account as my EU account's ass is getting sore from being screwed too many times.

    Aysir,

Its all such a big con isn't it? Thank god you have Sony championing your cause.. tut.
  • penhalion #20 4 years ago

Actually it's the usual localisation delay that seems to plague Sony. It's like they forget there are more than just english and japanese as valid world languages........Ok so they SHOULD be right about that but, sadly they aren't and until I take over the world, they never will be.

I'm not at all surprised by the delay of the PS3 demo on the European US demo. Presumably this means the game is out a week after the Xbox 360 version then?
  • Negotiator #22 4 years ago

Off topic but has anyone downloaded and played the Turning Point demo on xbox live, and is it any good.
  • GamesConnoisseur #23 4 years ago

It is only a week, nothing really to cry over. European PS3 owners should all have US account, its mandatory with SCEE handlings of PSN Europe still a joke!

Still for a one time exclusive, this still like, yeah?!! Why the delay not the same for XBL European users? Should roll out on both the same way.

As for Turning Point demo, downloading it at moment on XBL, just saw the banner ad and did not realise it was up!
