PSN update: Smash Cars, Battle Tanks

Plus Buzz! Home space and loads of DLC.

The PS3 Store refresher boasts new games, demos and DLC aplenty, while PlayStation Home opens a new Events Space for Buzz!

Get questions right and a tomato will be lobbed at a rotating Buzz statue. Get 10 questions right in a row and you will unlock a tomato head to put on your Home avatar.

Smash Cars and Battle Tanks are the low-key PSN additions, although their price - £12 and £8 respectively - is steep. Conversely, Crash Commando has had a price-cut to promote new content added today.

Also receiving extras are Fight Night Round 4 (Champions Pack), Disgaea 3 (a bucket load), Transformers 2 (Character and Map Pack), Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Tatooine Mission Pack) and Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (Wolf Creek Course).

Regular updates are available for Rock Band (PS3, PSP) and LBP, and Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce can be bought for PSP.

Awesome about Dynasty Warriors PSP, I miss that game quite a bit but refuse to buy a disc version due to impending UMDless PSP.

Some other alright stuff there too, I certainly won't complain this week :)

With the imminent release of the PSPGo I really wonder when the PSP store finally gets a decent update - and by decent I don't mean 2-3 games that are actually considered good, but a fair chunk of the 100's of games of the PSP and PSOne back catalogues. Then again Mike Kebby from the PSN blog has hinted at busy times ahead for him and his team so there's hope.

That's about £70 of Disgaea 3 DLC right there.
Some game developers/publishers really are turning into absolute fucking wankers.

It's all cobblers! ROLL ON Sept 18th - Katamari Forever!
  • chudders #5 3 years ago

Anyone have any ideas if Battle tanks/crash commando/smash cars are any good? I'm looking for some quirky two player action for this weekend (cue smutty remarks).

edit: Actually scrap that, £12 and £8 for some casual games is a bit much. I'll look into crash commando's though.

@el_pollo_diablo: agreed completely. I hate DLC anyway, but this really is a new low.

@cherryuk: this is perhaps not the thread for it, but I was severely disappointed with the Katamari PS3 demo. It seemed to share all the things that made the 360 one so bad... And believe me, I really really wanted it to be good. :(

Guitar Hero World Tour DLC stopped now then? That didn't last long.
  • flaming.carrot #9 3 years ago

Bah! When I we finally going to get Fallout 3 DLC???
  • mingster #10 3 years ago

Does this add trophy support to Disgaea 3?
  • menage #11 3 years ago

Wholy fucking crap, that's a lot of D3 shit.

I love Disgaea, but am not going near this stuff.

Yay for free Batman stuff though.

gutted o well thanks for looking

basically we get all the D3 dlc at once, where it trickled out in weekly instalments in the US, and that's not a bad thing - it just makes it seem very expensive.
it is a shame that they didn't include the "all dlc" bundle, so i'll need to carefully add multiple items to my basket without buying anything twice (most characters are bundled in sets) - more inconvenient than it needs to be.

Not sure if they mention patches on EG..., but Star Wars unleashed has been patched with Trophy support (you have to delete your data saves before it will work).
  • mss99 #17 3 years ago

I know am I not the only one as a friend has said the same but when I look at the store today there is no new content from what was added last week. I can't see any of the listed content. Anyone else got this problem. Hope something hasn't been screwed up with the latest network maintenance meaning not everyone gets an updated store.
  • infoxicated #18 2 years ago

I noticed that the RB content was not showing as "latest" in-game, nor was it findable. Had to buy it in the store instead. Most odd.
