This is actually the picture of the game that I was getting over the past couple of months coverage of the game. It'll be interesting. Shadow's take on the mash-up will potentially be very interesting, I know he's done remixes before but this seems like newish ground for him to an extent.

I like the idea of the game but I'm not sold on the mash-ups approach. If I want to listen to Foo Fighters, I don't want DJ-Twat mashing-up the vinyl. I want to listen to Foo Fighters. There's plenty of electronic music styles to choose from that aren't as painful to hear.

Without triggering any unnecessary DJ-rage, I'd like to express my amusement at a soundtrack of mash-ups of other artists being described as "all original".

Have to echo sentiments already voiced - the game could be great, but I'm not interested in 'mash-ups'. It'll be reminiscent of some shitty bar/club on a Friday night surrounded by chavs and stinking of Red Bull and vodka. Tracks from different genres within dance music, yes.

This game would be very dull if the soundtrack was made of more typical electronic music. Slowly fading between 8 minute tech-house records does not a fun game make.

Where's your collective sense of post-modern imagination?

"Mashups" are bloody horrible, however properly constructed tunes created specifically so that you could learn to mix and cut etc would be very exciting.

You wouldn't need 8 minute house tracks; if they're going for new mixes, then why not commission remixes of actual dance tracks, more tailored to the length needed for the game?

The last thing I want to be DJ Heroing to are hideous mixes of Foo Fighters and Marvin Gaye... :os
