Disgaea DS, PS3 coming to US

But still no word on Europe.

It's been confirmed that three more Nippon Ichi titles are down for a US release.

They include Disgaea 3: Absence of Justice for PS3, which is out there on August 26th. The game follows the adventures of Mao, a student at the Evil Academy, who attempts to overthrow his father and assume the title of Overlord. It's an RPG innit.

Then there's Disgaea DS, billed as a deep strategy RPG with a new storyline and ending. Items called Geo Cubes add another dimension to battles, and there are multiplayer modes for local wireless play.

It's out on September 23rd along with Rhapsody: A Musical Adventure, also a DS title. This one is a remake of the old PlayStation game and features new unlockable characters and music-based RPG gameplay.

The games are being distributed in the US by Atlus, but it's usually Koei who handles Nippon Ichi titles in Europe. So will they make it here too? "No news yet for these shores, I'm afraid," a Koei representative told Eurogamer. Thanks anyway, Koei representative.

meh, PS3 and DS are region free anyway so you can just import! Which if the games likely to only sell to hardcore fans they may as well save themselfs the money of doing a europe release, as the hardcore will more then happily import

True, except that D3 has DLC coming which is obviously going to be more difficult for us to purchase from the USA PSN should you want it.

Anyway, I thought I remembered NIS saying they were setting up a European office this year?

    @Shrub

    O yeah... DLC.
I was ready to just import it from the US. Guess I'd better wait for some more info on a EU release.
Hopefully that info comes before Aug 26th.

    DLC!

Goddamnit Koei better bring it over here soon then. >:(

It's not hugely difficult to get US DLC, though. Takes a few minutes to set up an Entropay account. The PSN cards are starting to appear over there now too, which should make it even easier.

Oh, I don't want to have to get another copy of Disgaea. I have enough trouble finishing them as it is.

Disgaea is the biggest time-leech of a game in the world... Now you can play it on the move, bus, train, plane, toilet, picnic, bed...asleep?

Anyway.. awesome, i'll get it, and this time i might more than 10% through the game.

Again Europe left behind, but who cares? Ill import Disgaea 3 and support ATLUS US since European companies dont give a damn about us Europeans...

    Screw you PAL distributors....

Vertical Stand> Kind of hard to support EU publishers if they don't actually import the games to give you something to buy, isn't it? If they were a bit more pro-active about it, i.e. collaborating with companies like Atlus to get the translations done at the same time as the US English, so that the games didn't show up 6-12 months later, then people would buy them.

Of course, the problem is then one of selling enough copes to make it viable, but Atlus seems to be doing alright, so far.

YenRug - They don't even translate the games AFAIK. I got dis.2 in Italy and the game is entirely in English, with just the manual in Italian.

I have waited forever for Xenosaga 3 PAL, and what? nothing...had to import....I do support EU publishers but its stupid to wait for a game 1 year while it is already translated into English and released in US. Not to mention that not releasing PS3 game which is region free at the same time as US publishers is STUPID....EU publishers need to do homework on how things works. US has really good sells only coz of EU players importing games that normally would take 1 year to be released here....Not suprising that EU sells are pathetic....

But who cares about Europe....we are just a bunch of noobs that play EA games only.....
