Disgaea 2 enhanced for PSP this year News

PSP News by Robert Purchese

8 May, 2009

NIS America plans to release PSP game Disgaea 2: Dark Hero Days across the US this autumn.

This is an enhanced port of Disgaea 2, which was superb when it came out for PS2 back in 2006. The new bits are more characters, items and skills, plus extra story chapters and even new battle features stolen from Disgaea 3.

Dark Hero Days follows Adell, the last human, on his journey to the Netherworld to defeat the armies of Zenon. Adell will amass and nurture his own force along the way, seeing off waves of baddies in strategical, tile-based brawls.

Bizarrely, the first trailer contradicts the press release by citing a summer 2009 date. We're looking into European plans.

A mate of mine loves Dis to death.

It just sounds like (from what he's said) it'd suck up too much of my life if I started playing it...

Hmm odd as Disgaea2 for PSP is already out in Japan.
So is it different to this version?
Are they enhancing it for the EU/US release only or is it the same as the JAP version?

I'm sold as long as they keep the JP language track.

@ quantumsheep

You can finish the main story in 20-ish hours.
If you want to be OCD about it then yeah, you could probably spend the rest of eternity playing it and still find something to keep you occupied.

So, are the Disgea games on the PSP the same as the PS2 ones? For some reason I though they were different games...

I might pick this one up at one point, I think this kind of game works better on a PSP than on a PS2.

Please port this to the iphone! I'm sure it would work wonderfully as a touch game, and they would make so much money and have the best game in the store...
