Its realy good fun, painful at times but definitely fun.
It switches between beauty and sub-PS2 hideousness as and when it feels like it, and the 3rd person adventuring is great as city blocks fall down in front of you. Am enjoying it a lot, It feels deliberately daft and OTT in terms of dialogue and if I was forced to slap a number on it I'd go with a 7, maybe even an 8 if I only owned a Wii. |

LOL...for all the mediocre-to-OK scores this game is getting, I still can't help but be interested in it, solely because of how gosh-darned funny it sounds. IGN's review had it right: it's great when the Japanese try to produce something quintessentially "American" in style, because it always causes them to end up making the most Japanese thing ever. Maybe worth a rental, just for the laughs...not like there's much else to play on Wii at the moment, anyway. :P

Covers all the flaws in the game, and it's probably a little unfocused.
I have to disagree about the checkpoints, though. I found them to be quite well spaced and fair. I like it simply because it is what the review paints it to be; a collection of crazy ideas built around some insane set pieces. You look back and think, yes - there are better games, but in the moment, it's a great experience. |

I really liked the driving sections, actually. They're pretty exciting.
Amazing review from Walko again, though. I'd personally give it a 7 or 8 (it really is just that much fun) but I can totally understand the 6 because it is clunky. But yeah, hysterical in places. And the 'pyroclastic flow' stuff is totally true. |

Yeah a 6/10 for the first 25% but an 8+ for the next 75% a game that just gets better and better as it goes along. The game is about FUN people, remember when that was important in games? Well this has it is bucket-loads, from the cheesy dialog to the constant variation in gaming styles. Nearly at the end and haven't been able to put it down since I bought it and I haven't even seen everything so plenty to do with a second play-through. I wouldn't dismiss this on one review and it is much better then this score would have you think.

Sounds like good, mindless fun - a nice distraction from the epic, time consuming games like Fable 2 and Fallout 3.

I may give this a go as it does sound a bit of a laugh and because EG also reviewed Endless Ocean as 6/10, Resident Evil 4 Wii as 7/10 and de Blob as 8/10, all of which are 9/10s for me! So I reckon this'll be a personal 8/10. ;)

A six is certainly on the lean side, I've been loving it. It's a game which is a lot more than the sum of its parts. It makes some really clever use of the Wiimote, and the variety on offer will keep you continuously busy. For the Wii to have an action game designed from the ground up to take advantage of it's unique control system is a breath of fresh air, and whilst the b-movie cheese is laid on pretty thick, it all adds to the game's charm.
Technically it's really rather competent too. Some great smoke and water effects, and it all holds together at a solid frame rate. I really can't recommend it enough to Wii owners looking for a bit of waggle based action, there's just so many set pieces and fun to be had, Nintendo should be pimping this as a key Christmas release. |

Unless you are seriously wealthy why on earth are some of you prepared to spend your hard earned income on this sub-standard rubbish? Trade in your Wii's and come to the glorious world of HD. Seriously, this game or: Fable 2, Fallout3, LBP, Resistance 2, Gears Of War 2.... (none of which coming to Wii) Save yourselves....it's not too late. :) |

Shame. I was interested in the game when I saw some gameplay videos, not least because it's been months since I've bought *any* games for my poor deprived Wii and there's absolutely nothing else of interest on it for me pre-Christmas either. Very disappointing really. Anyway, I've since read some reviews that have said pretty much what EG have said and with the number of other great games coming out on the 360 and PS3 over the next few weeks there's no room in my collection for a just above mediocre game.

I played LBP for first time the other day at a friends place. Before playing it i wanted to buy a ps3 just to play it. After playing it, I felt it was INCREDIBLY overrated.. and in a whole world of "meh". Sure the editor is great, but the game itself just isnt that fun. |

Eurogamer are so often on the money that it really shows when their reviews come up short. The IGN review is a far better reflection of what this game is about. |

Sounds awesome. Sounds like one of those games that gets bad scores on account of some daft checklist, but is heralded as a cult classic by everyone else afterwards. If it's anything like the Disaster Report games, I'm getting it.
Trade in your Wii's and come to the glorious world of HD. lol yeah fuck you, I've got a PC capable of playing at resolutions none of your "HD" consoles can fathom. And guess what? I just don't give a shit. I didn't give a shit years ago when I went back to playing Perfect Dark on my N64 after playing Quake 2 on the PC at 1024x768, and I don't give a shit now. HD is a fucking gimmick. You get used to it after 20 minutes and that's it, after that it's all the same crap. |

Have you played it yet? How do you know they're not on the money?
Got it on Friday, on my second play through. It's just fantastic fun. It's cheesiness and clichés are entirely intended. It's a great, old fashioned, arcade experience with a cracking sense of humour and a pace that just doesn't give you time to think. I'd recommend it to anyone more concerned with enjoying a game than counting it's polygons. |
