Diablo 3 not the end of the franchise News
PC Xbox 360 PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese
Blizzard has said the Diablo universe will live on in some form or another after Diablo 3.
"We're not saying this is the end of the Diablo universe, but we are trying to bring this storyline to a close," Jay Wilson, lead designer, told MTV Multiplayer.
"It's not just Diablo 3 - we've got plans beyond."
Wilson said the plot for Diablo 3 will draw plenty of inspiration from previous instalments as well as those accompanying books we had no idea existed.
"We're definitely going to bring a few of them in," said Wilson of familiar characters, after confirming the inclusion of Deckard Cain, who we saw at the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational in June.
Diablo 3 is exclusive to PC and Mac, but Blizzard has suggested that Diablo is the most suited of its franchises for a console appearance in the future.
No date, unsurprisingly, has been set, but you can catch up with the hordes of media as well as our thoughts over on the Diablo 3 gamepage.
