Looks like he is ready to unleash
    TOTAL
    GLOBAL
    SATURATION

The character looks like a twat, I hope he's the villain.

The city looks amazing - if it's like that in the game, I'm sold.

Looks big budget bing bang bong rather than the intimate, lo-fi style of deus x. Not sure myself...
  • Boomerang #5 2 years ago

It's trailer video, not in-game, so is of course very shiny and slick. In-game footage will be better proof. Shall reserve judgement until then.

Has this been developed by Capcom instead of Eidos?, looks like Albert Wesker strikes again ;)

This looks brilliantly William Gibson neon+chrome, but why the hell is there the "cool factor"? They don't need to make people look "cool" in "cool" stances and poses and gelled-up hair dos, that's bullshit!

They're just stills, perhaps everyone looks as dorky as you apparently want them to for the rest of the trailer. ;)

Looks good to me, love the cityscape.
  • ZuluHero #9 2 years ago

Why not? Its everything I aspire to be ;)

And no way will that be the baddie of the piece, you don't give that much screen time to the villain...

screenshots of a cgi trailer? Seems a little pointless. Still looks nice though I guess.
  • abigsmurf #11 2 years ago

No indication of gameplay = meh

    > but why the hell is there the "cool factor"?

that's the way it always was. JC Denton basically dressed like Neo, in spite of being an infinitely smarter and cooler character
  • TheTingler #13 2 years ago

Hopefully there'll be gameplay in the trailer alongside the Squeenix trailer stuff, but either way... YAY. Just please have a release date... and this year!

That comment about it being low-fi, well yeah. It's a prequel where nano-augmentation hasn't been invented and they only have bio-augmentation. Pfff. Bunch of primitive monkey :p Bio-aug is so in the past.

"JC Denton basically dressed like Neo"

No, no. Neo dressed like JC Denton. The dev conceived the idea in 1994. I'm going to just blindly assume that he had a good idea of what JC would wear already, at that time.

Come to think of it. Reading a bit about it on wiki, it said that the game's supposed to encompass different cities, and the player's going to have his own apartment. That sounds like Alpha Protocol (the only two bits of them that seem similar :p). Let Deus Ex show them how to properly do a spy RPG (I mean, JC was a spy too, wasn't he?), and not that rubbish they came up with.

Looks pretentious, looks awesome, looks a bit Blade Runner.

    I'm in!
  • Praetorianer #16 2 years ago

The still of the city instantly made my mind explode with visions of how cool the game could be with this kind of graphical quality/setting. That looks just soooo awesome!
  • esbenf #17 2 years ago

He does look like a twat, but as pointed out, so did JC -but that was the 90s -he looks like a twat from the 90s which isn't cool. And he isn't a villain, but the main character, Adam Nielsen i think i recall he is named.

Otherwise the environment design looks awesome! Not so sure about the golden hue everything is wrapped in though, hope they realise there are other tones available..Would like to see some gameplay too, cinematics don't say much -but I find myself quite optimistic about this game for some reason, especially the fact that the developers have stated they will take most of its inspiration from deus ex, not invisible war
  • waynenot #18 2 years ago

Yeah, great - now show us what the actual game looks like. Is this full, amazing video going to contain anything other than pre-rendered images?
  • Lunatic4ever #19 2 years ago

    wow..just wow...

The trailer was made by Square Enix, so thats why. Thre is certainly little FF vibe in those pics. Still looks very good.

Not gameplay footage sadly. Not excited at all.

    This.
  • Der_tolle_Emil #23 2 years ago

That guy does look a bit 'generic' but the city looks awesome. Deus Ex was fantastic and I really hope they don't screw this up.
  • reinhart_menken #24 2 years ago

Okay, so it's not just me that thought the protagonist looks stupid. Me personally I think he looks like a stereotypical character coming out of an anime or manga, that stereotypical gruff, tough guy with the Van Dyck beard and that hair (they draw them like that in mangas). Look at that first shot, the hair sticking out and sticking up higher in the middle. Who in the Western world has that? Is he supposed to be Solid effing Snake? I'm not a racist or anything, I'm just saying I dislike that fashion sense in hair they have in Japan (and I know this is made by Square Enix Europe, I just think they still have too much influence from their parent company).

I also hate that stereotypical guy-on-steroids, sleeveless-wearing, bald-headed, big-beard guy type they have in Max Payne 3.

Square are only doing the trailers, none of this is going to be in the actual game (strange I know)
  • funkateer #26 2 years ago

Looks awesome! Looking forward to this.

I chuckled at the news girls clothes. The fashion of the future is weird.
