It's an RTS/RPG multiplayer mash-up.

Gas Powered Games has finally put out a demo for PC multiplayer strategy game Demigod.

The Demigod website links through to FilePlanet, where the 600MB demo awaits.

Demigod was released here back in May. It's a strategy game with RPG elements, and takes a healthy dose of inspiration from Warcraft III mode Defense of the Ancients.

And it's worth a try, as our Demigod review points out.

It's pretty good, actually.

The skirmish AI is good, and I doubt the multiplayer will die out any time soon; it's the type of game that goes on forever getting increasingly dominated by hardcore players. And for 17.99 on play.com it's already half the price of a new console game.

I'd quite like to give this a go... but without a decent story mode I'm just not that motivated. And the problem is, by the time it hits the bargain bin the multiplayer (which seems to be the heart of the game) will be mostly dead. Sounds like the kind of game that's going to go to a microcharging model any day now...
