Dementium dev kills off Dracula game

Gamecock title must have sucked.

Dementium: The Ward developer Renegade Kid has halted work on a Dracula-themed game called Son of the Dragon.

"Some of you may have heard about a secret Dracula game that we signed with Gamecock in 2008. It brings us no pleasure to announce that it is no longer in development," says Renegade Kid on its website.

"The official title of the game is Son of the Dragon. The intellectual property is still owned by Renegade Kid. Should an opportunity to resurrect Son of the Dragon present itself in the future, you will be the first to know."

Renegade Kid recently finished and launched DS game Moon across the US, and received quite positive reviews: Metacritic says 74 per cent. Moon will head to Europe this summer.

Renegade Kid has another game hidden up its sleeve ready to be unveiled soon, too.

"The Renegade Kid team is hard at work on a new secret game, which will be announced in 2009. The entire team is extremely excited about our new title, and we look forward to sharing more information with you about it soon," writes the developer.

Dementium: The Ward is an on-rails DS shooter that launched here early last year. We didn't get around to reviewing it, unfortunately, but overall opinion was positive.
