Nintendo really need to start clamping down on rubbish being released for their consoles. Whatever happened to that seal of quality thing?

the "nitendo seal of quality" hasnt existed for ages, not since it caused the playstation to overtake nintendo in sales (as sony let any old stuff get released on their machine - joe public preferred the choice).

Nintendo have learned their lesson - the public prefer the choice of having shit loads of games to chose from (Even if they're crap) - which seems to be the case looking at how much the wii is outselling the competition.

Still, that said.. maybe joe public just doesnt want to play endless fps games eh kryon?

Hey guys, take a look at a box to a recent Nintendo game - its not the "Nintendo Seal of Quality" anymore. It's just the "Nintendo Seal".

The ironic thing (at least I think it's really ironic, the Alanis song makes me scared to actually use that word) is that Nintendo came up with the "Seal of Quality" in response to the torrent of unredeemable garbage that doomed the early pre-NES consoles.

    Maybe someone should remind them?

    >Maybe someone should remind them?

But THAT'S (one of the reasons) WHY developers stopped making games for nintendo platforms when sony came along and said "release what you like on our platform we dont care".

Why would developers waste money making a nintendo game only for them to say "sorry it's not good enough", and refuse to let it out the door - when they can just make said game for the other platforms.

Joe public goes into a game shop, and doesnt think "oooh, look at the nintendo shelf, it has 10 games - but they're all bloody brilliant".. Joe public goes in the games shop and says "bah.. only 10 nintendo games over there.. look at the 100's of playbox games.." .. they dont care if 90% of those games are shit.. to a consumer - more = better.

and no matter how much "hardcore" nerd gamers whinge and cry about them.. the main consumer is all that matters (hardcore nerds ARE in the minority)
