Death Tank is an early contender for downloadable game of the year. Possibly even best XBLA game. Braid may have all the indie boys gushing (and dont get me wrong, I love it too) but Death Tank has that marvellous miracle ingredient: FUN!

I almost came in here shouting off about him calling the Saturn crap. But he never said that, just it was difficult to work on & that it was rushed & had a lot of aftermarket crap shoved in the box to do 3D. Which is true.

Saturn was an awesome console.

I had a Saturn back in the day.

The memory is kinda hazy but 'crap' pretty much covers it. Expensive crap too. That's the worst kind of crap.

In other words, it was crap.

I have to admit if it wasn't for my Sega biase I would have had a better time as a gamer on PS1. Saturn was crap hardware with brilliant games. Still, at least I got Panzer Dragoon Saga for my problems. :)

Oh, and Exhumed was better on Saturn. Check your facts EG. tut tut.

I for one had all of Lobotomy's games on my Saturn, and playing Death Tank Zwei was one of my all time gaming high points!

Oh and EuroGamer, it was only 7 player, the Multi tap housed 6 pads, but had to plug into one of the Saturns 2 ports. This left one port free. Fill all 7 slots and you unlocked the hidden 'Multi coloured' tank....awesome. ;)

Anyway, Ezra and the guys at Snowblind, fine work on the re make, like all my christmas's coming at once, you've made an old man very happy. ;)

And well done to every one at Lobotomy (RIP) for keeping the faith back in the day....you've created a master piece. (I remember reading about the origiinal Red and Blue tank battles described back then!)

Anyone who moans about it having no depth has obviously never played it. and the people moaning about it costing 1200 MS points rather than 800, you all must be bonkers! you realise you are complaining about £3 (Ish) difference? right?
Good grief, I've lost £3 before now and not been as bothered as you guys about it!!!

If your not sure, download the demo, play it multiplayer (As it should be) and then you'll buy it!
Oh, and can we stop comparing it to Scorched Earth or Worms....its way better than either!!!

No one should under estimate the power of Death Tank.....

Buy it!

Happy days!

Scorched Earth.

Damn, that's brought back memories. :)

Reminds me that I still owe two of my friends a hideous death (in a game, I hasten to add).

Death Tank does look good, I'm just not sure if it's 1200 points good.

I'd buy Death Tank, but not for 1200 MS Points. As for Saturn vs PlayStation Exhumed, they have some differences, but both are great.

Should have queried the reasoning behind him wanting 1200 points rather than 800 points but it was kind of already answered when he said he had to make money.

If it is anything like the original then 1200 points is definitely worth it.

Death Tank was simply fantastic and now the ability to play it online has taken it to a whole new level of brilliance.

I would have liked a question on whether there were technical reasons for it only being 4 player on the same console. One of the best things about the first was that you get 7 of you on the same TV. Surely with HD this would be even better these days...

I was thinking maybe it'#s not possible to connect up 7 different wireless controllers or something. Seems a missed opportunity if it is though :(

Only four ring of light segments on Xbox controllers! The console doesn't currently support any more than that. Sure, a firmware update could probably "solve" it, but there are so few games on the 360 where 8 players would be possible, it would hardly be worth it, and they'd have to do some kind of workaround for the controller problem.

By the way, EG, I'm surprised you don't have a review up yet. Could give this game a leg up in its horrible release slot. I mean, seriously - sandwiched inbetween TLAD and SFIV, and costing 1200 points. Nasty. It's been left to die.

I liked the Saturn more than Playstation because of the games but from a hardware design point of view, it was crap. I didn't want to believe it back then but I have grown up.

Also, I can't remember when I was last so excited about a game.

Agreed on some of the other comments, Saturn had crap hardware(for 3D at least) but some truly great games despite that. Sega still made some amazing games back then and the hardware doesn't change that.

And yes Exhumed was better on the Saturn.

I was even mad enough to get all the team dolls including putting up the seemingly hundreds of failed attempts at the one hidden behind the huge one hit kill laser maze. Though the euro version didn't have death tank as reward for that sadly, just a flight mode.
