Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2 by March 2011
Plus an innovative Madden.
EA superboss John Riccitiello has said to expect Dead Space 2 and Crysis 2 "at full margins", whatever that means, within the company's 2011 fiscal year.
In other words, we can expect to see both games before 31st March 2011 by current reckoning.
Visceral Games' Dead Space 2 is set on an enormous space station called Sprawl, which is being overrun by Necromorphs. Expect more suit upgrades and customisation, new enemies and multiplayer among other things from the survival horror sequel, which is due out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.
Less is known about Crysis 2, even though it was announced somewhat earlier at E3 last year, but it's developer Crytek's first console game, based on CryEngine 3, and dev boss Cevat Yerli has previously said he wants it to be "the best game that can exist on Xbox 360 on PS3" in terms of technical performance.
Digital Foundry recently explored its potential on the two console formats, and the game is also due out for PC.
Back in the now, Riccitiello also pointed to "FIFA in a World Cup year" as good news for EA's bottom line, and said to expect "an innovative and new take on Madden", perhaps featuring real horses.

It was quite sad to see it floundering there between established IPs that were expected to dominate. Its like they sent out DS and Mirrors Edge (another great title) to die.

Cannot wait for both of those, they are my absolute most wanted (after ME2 in a couple of weeks) which is pretty good going considering the huge amount of great games I want this year.

Remember that Dead Space was a new IP back in 2008, so it was likely to struggle against established franchises, but with the exception of "Dead Space Dan" here at Eurogamer the game was beloved by all who played it. I think if Dead Space 2 were to be released in a busy period on the calendar it would more than hold its own against the competition and achieve more than respectable sales.
