    I don't think this series has ever been about gameplay has it?

    Having said that, assuming some of those grabs are 'engine based' rather than FMV, I don't think I've seen a PSP game with graphics of that quality before. I think there's a certain amount of bullshotting going on.

    My daughter loves these games, i'm really surprised that tecmo haven't thought of trying to sell them directly to girls, how much work would it really take to rebrand them as 'Barbies beach blast' or something similar.

    It really is about time that they made a winter resort version (not in bikinis, natch) with collectable bobble hats, hot chocolate and snowball fights (and i suppose slightly dodgy pyjama party sequences to keep the core audience on board).

    Well, prepare for a real slog then, cause it will take ages to even get anywhere with the crap game they have attached to it. You're basically playing 1000 games of simple volleyball and dull jetskiing to get some swimsuits. That's it. That's the whole game. It's the only game I have 0G as well, Just takes ages to get anywhere.

    I bought it for 5 bucks because I love quirky Japanese stuff, this wasn't quirky at all.

    Wait a second, are they going to use FMV for everything? Because those screens sure don't look like they use in-game graphics. At least not PSP-level.

    ... or maybe they do. After all, if there's one thing Tecmo can do, that's good graphics. I'll wait for more screens.

    I adored the first DOA Xtreme game on the Xbox as it was refreshingly different and summery even if there wasn't a lot of substance there. The lame, lazy Xbox 360 sequel was pretty dreadful though, more of the same only this time it felt horribly basic and dated with mini-games that were so simplistic that it was hard to get any enjoyment out of them. Even the jetski game was awful and lacked any depth. DOAX2 got quite rightly slaughtered by the critics as it was a very poor game (it stretched the definition of "game" really).

    I'm not going to hold my breath that this new game will be any better. The graphics look alright, if a little 2005-ish (seems like Team Ninja can't do any other style), but I'm betting the gameplay will be as utterly dreadful as ever. 2/10 from EG seems a dead cert. ;)

    Ah my mistake... I didn't see that this game was for the PSP. That's alright then, it's not a platform renowned for great games anyway ! :P

    The jet skiing in DOAX2 is better than an awful lot of jetskiing specific games. If you actually play it and let the game and difficulty develop that is. You can opt to have all your girlies fully covered up if you can't resist wanking to video game characters too.
