Dark Void demo due later this week

On both PSN and Xbox Live.

A playable demo is on the way for Dark Void, the new sci-fi shooter from Capcom.

It'll let you strap on a jetpack and enjoy a bit of aerial dogfighting, vertical cover action and on-foot combat.

The demo will be released via Xbox Live tomorrow, with the PlayStation Network version to follow on Thursday. The full game will be available for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 from 22nd January.

You can find all manner of Dark Void previews, videos and screenshots over on the gamepage.

it's absolutely terrible, you will see!

No PC demo, again. I wonder why publishers always look so surprised no one actually buys demo-less games which aren't sequels?
Just add some unpatched bugs, some incompatibilities with certain hardware (Saboteur, anyone?), maybe messed up and laggy controls, no DLCs for sure - that would be perfect PC version! Don't know about other stuff yet, but no demo looks like a step in a right direction, way to go, Capcom!

Funny thing is Capcom already predicting half-million copies sales for Dark Void instead of million+ before. Is the game really THAT bad?

Shame there isn't a PC demo for this. I was pleasantly surprised by the little hands on I got at E2 and a demo would have been just the job to make my mind up. Ah well, guess I'll wait for the review.

@DaemonSpawn: I think we should cut capcom a little slack since my impression has been they've been a lot better than most at porting games to PC over the past year or so.

Yeah, they're better than many - all these traditional PC ports' fuckups usually don't belong to newer Capcom's titles (Lost Planet, DMC4, Bionic Commando) but still - will you really pay full price for Dark Void without even trying it? It doesn't look like super-hit, it isn't made by Blizzard, id, Valve, Bioware etc, it's not a new iteration of GTA or Bioshock, it isn't really marketed properly. Plus this sales prediction by Capcom itself doesn't help. Good demo would solve all issues, but no demo = move along, nothing to see here for me.

I will try out the demo but i have no intention to buy this one. I heard Capcom have lowered the sells forecast for Dark Void by half.

I used to be looking forward to this game when I first read about it in EDGE quite awhile ago now. But the lag of proper marketing and previews which havn't been overly positive kinda makes me think this could be a flop, it's a shame since Capcom should be commended for trying something new - it's not often we see a jetpack 3d adventure game.

The graphics does seems a bit weak.

Considering the PC Zone review of it I think PC only gamers are probably better off without a demo.

@ stevetuck: Every man in a computer game is voiced by Nolan North these days. It's the law.

guns donīt feel and sound right, jet pack flying is no fun, enemys are dumb, muddy, boring, greyish outdated look, qte donīt work well...my impresion about the demo...and i really hate to say this, because i was hoping for a good game here. i really liked the concept of it. itīs a shame...

seriously - how many games does that voice actor want to make feel homogonised (at least narratively)

    Uncharted
    shadow complex
    now this!
