CSI: Crime Scene Investigation: Hard Evidence Reader Review
While I had played the previous CSI games I knew what to expect from this one. Having played the previous versions all on PC, I decided to play the new on on a console this time. However I had a choice, Xbox360 or Wii. I decided upon the latter due to the wii remote blending itself well with the genre of point & click.
Well after completing 2 missions I can confirm, the game is identical to the aging two previous versions. The game looks like an early ps2 game. But I dont care about the graphics. I enjoyed the game. I dont knwo what it is about point and click adventures. Maybe my fond memories of MOnkey Island or even Beneath a steel sky, they all leave me with fond memories of games like this. This is as close as I can get to it.
The sound and frame rate does suffer in the game. I am not sure if this is a fault of the game or the trasnfer to wii format, but it is noticable, and this reviewer had to redo a level after the system crashed right at the end of a 3 hour case! Quite frustrating.
I would have to say that if your a fan of the show then you might enjoy the game and see past the faults that are very visually present.
This is not a game for the new generation of gamers that the Wii is trying to take on. But if your an old fashioned gamer after a puzzle for an hour or two at a time, then this is a game for you.
