Crysis demo on 25th Sept
Promising "huge surprise".
Halo 3 will be dominating the headlines in late September, but PC gamers needn't sulk, because Crytek says that it will release a Crysis demo on 25th September.
The demo will consist of the entire first level of the single-player game. Called "Contact", it will give you a taste of the fancy graphics, fancy Nanosuit gameplay and fancy open-ended level design that make the game - for want of a better word - fancy.
What's more, Crytek says the demo is "poised to include a huge surprise from Crytek". Perhaps they're going to correct the typo in the name.
Of course, you can't have too much Crysis - or at least that seems to be the editorial policy this month. Did you enjoy our Crysis studio tour, Cevat Yerli interview and exclusive gameplay movies? We do hope so. By the way, it's your go on Scrabulous.

Not unlikely, Far Cry was scaling a lot better than people thought it would before its release.
I know that's not how you meant it.
Comment below viewing threshold Show
Yeah Far Cry scaled alright, but it looked like Quake 2 on a shit machine.

Though tbh, knowing we'll get a demo soon is a nice enough surprise already.

I remember the Farcry demo being particularly excellent, so I have high hopes for the Crysis demo.

Cevat Yerli: As a PC game developer you have to make sure your game runs on two to three year old PCs. In fact, the current specification we're planning for is even four year old PCs.
If you're a gamer who bought a new gaming PC two or three years ago, you can play Crysis, and you will get visuals that will compete with visuals of that time. Of course you won't get the super Direct X10 graphics, but we are competitive.

Hooray!
Though I don't expect the confusion over that will be good for sales.

Vista IS NOT required to play this game.
That has been Cryteks position since the game was first announced.
