Crash Commando and Soldner for PSN

Plus a few downloadable PSP games.

Sony has updated the PlayStation Network shops with several new downloadable games, including Crash Commando for PS3 and Football Manager Handheld 2009 for the PSP.

There's also Soldner-X: Himmelssturmer, which Wikipedia reckons means Mercenary-X: Romantic Idealist, and which is a horizontally scrolling shooter with screenshots worth admiring in our Soldner-X gallery.

Sony hasn't quite sorted out its pricing structure for downloadable PSP games, though, with FM Handheld up at a whopping GBP 29.99 (versus about 25 quid in the shops) while Buzz! Brain Bender is GBP 19.99 (15 quid). At least Ultimate Board Game Collection is only GBP 9.99.

Otherwise there's the usual assortment of Rock Band and Guitar Hero stuff, and those Christmas bits for LittleBigPlanet. Yay.

Soldner X looks like my cup of tea! :)

I like how the Rock Band track pack is more expensive than buying the songs individually.

Soldner X is quite hard but everything gets easier with practice. It almost reminds me of Einhander from the PS1. That game was awesome but too short.

Söldner X is ace, already have it for PC. Just when I thought they don't make 'em like that anymore!!! \o/

Crash Commando turned out to be a lot of fun, and in my opinion potentially among the best PSN titles - assuming it can get and maintain a decent multiplayer community.
I had no clue what this game was about until I decided to buy it last night, and rarely have I been so positively surprised by a downloadable game. Even "bootcamp" against AI bots was fun, and 12 player online obviously even more so - though I did admittedly got lost more than a few times during objective based matches :).

Crash Commando is great and recommended but it's only fun online since playing against bots get boring quickly.

Unless it has been fixed up avoid Ultimate Board Game Collection like the plague. I bought it to take on holiday when it first came out. Several of the games were broken for two players. Spinners didn't spin, games stopped. Took at back and every version was the same. Really, really broken.

Having a lot of fun with Söldner X, though the second half of level 2 is a right tricky bugger!
I'm starting to get the hang of the unusual combo system though, and now I'm able to get a lot more powered-up by the end of level 1, which makes things a bit easier.
The game still thinks I suck though. I think a D rank is the best I've ever gotten.

    Crash Commando is great fun.
Not a clue what the life is for it, as the formula is pretty simple, but loving it at the moment.
