Condemned 2 slips a week

Greasy tramp hair to blame.

SEGA has told Eurogamer that the release date for PS3 and Xbox 360 title Condemned 2: Bloodshot has slipped to 4th April.

It follows similar news from last week that saw the brutal first-person action title slip from mid to late March.

Bloodshot pops you in the tattered boots of Ethan Thomas, the returning special agent who has fallen on hard times since the end of the first game. But the authorities need his underground contacts and unique approach to hunt some serial killers. So back to work he goes.

He smells, but will enjoy more complex hand-to-hand combat and better investigation mechanics this time around. There's also lots of multiplayer modes to get stuck into which, among other things, impressed us when we went hands-on with it recently.

You can watch us playing it too, which is rather fun because we are rather rubbish. Like litter. Litter that tramps eat. Take your pick from one of two juicy exclusives on Eurogamer TV.

I was really excited about this but that Edge review has dampened by enthusiasm somewhat although it's the only sub-6/10 review so far, other reviews I've read have given it 8/10. Still I loved the original and I believe Edge only gave that 6//10.

Who listens to Edge anyway, I'm with Darren the first one only got 6 with edge but I thought it was fantastic.

Just stop putting the game back Sega, any further and you are messing with my GTA4 time at the end of April!!!

I predict Dark Sector will beat the shit out of Condemned 2. Condemned 2 will be good, but not particularly great. Dark Sector will be the biggest surprise this spring.

Dark Sector only got a 7/10 in this month's OXM360 magazine so it isn't looking like it's anything special as they tend to pretty much overrate anything half decent.

    @Darren

OXM360 Magazine - never heard of it. Do you mean OXM or OXMUK maybe?

I really liked the touch in the first one of checking your ammo by looking at the shooter, but it looks like they have done away with it now, which is a shame. There seems to be too much going on in the HUD.

"GTFO, Beano, before I beat your ass with a rusty condom."

I do not want to know what kind of condom you use ;)

Anyway, yes I'm aware may people liked Condemned but it was a big letdown to me. Also it featured a very primitive and static lighting-system which made the game seems very "unreal". Hopefully the sequel will feature real dynamic lighting.

Well, a week isn't the end of the world. I hope to really enjoy this when it does come out and play through it at least twice so one week, in the words of Edge - 'Meh' :D

1st was a stunningly good game and that got 6 in Edge...so i wouldn't read a lot into it, they gave army of two a 4 and that's at least a solid 6, probably a 7 for most mags

Maybe i have odd tastes, but i can see a slightly dumber, slightly less well voiced version of Condemned is still going to be more enjoyable for myself than other highly celebrated titles, but i'll kindly refrain from naming which

maybe they think creating an atmosphere that oppressive is easy, maybe Ethan's new bumfights role and combos really mess up what it was about?...who knows, i'm sure Metacritic will show it up fairly

    Slipped again? FFS.

Edge and the Channel 4 teletext reviews are too far up their own arses to be considered when you buy a game.

    Delayed only in EU :(
The game is shipped today in US game stores. Tomorrow will be in sale :)

    Hahaha!

Any score Edge gives, just add 2 on to it and you have your real score. So that would make this 7/10.
  • XdarXideX #17 4 years ago

God bless the idiots who, without playing a game first, will claim it is crap. Beano... GFY.

Condemned was brilliant and I'm willing to bet the sequel is going to be fantastic.

Packs21> Where is the best place to order the US version then? (Region Free?) Videgamesplus.ca have a pre-order but no release date or confirmation of its region coding in their blog.

    Mehedge!

they are well up there own arses, i think they expect games to be a thousand times better now were into the next gen era so crackdown on anthing other than a perfect game with stupidly low scores.

looks like great *violent* fun to me nothing more nothing less, GTA3 got a 7 from Edge if i remember rightly, then they remembered its actually a good game and decided to give it an 8 the issue after.....meh!!!
  • Les #19 4 years ago

They're not that harsh, they did give Halo 3 a 10 after all... :p

But I'll repeat it once again: Review scores are pointless.

On topic - boo to this being delayed. Loved the first and will deffo buy the second. On the flip side, delay may encourage me to buy Viking instead, and wait for this to be a little cheaper :0)

Off topic - I generally find I agree with Edge reviews (that doesn't you're wrong if you don't, just that i do), which scares me a little that this may not be as enjoyable as the first... :/
