Competitive pair join WiiWare roster News

Wii News by Robert Purchese

30 January, 2009

Nintendo has slapped two more games into the WiiWare Store.

The wacky Pop Them, Drop Them SAMEGAME heads the update at 500 Wii Points (approx GBP 3.50 / EUR 5). It's an action puzzle game from Hudson based around matching blocks.

There's also multiplayer for up-to four, where you can play the brilliantly-named Shame Game mode. There's a Fame Game and Blame Game, too. We're sure we've played these before.

The other game is Family Glide Hockey for 500 Wii Points (approx GBP 3.50 / EUR 5). Guilty Gear creator Arc System Works made this, using a cel-shaded style and including multiplayer for up-to four people. Also, mini-games.

But forget those, because Eurogamer contributor Dan Whitehead (he who reviewed Killzone 2) has a very good joke to share.

"What do you call a tiny lycantrope?" asked he. "A WiiWare Wolf."

Remarkable.

Family Glide Hockey looks strangely appealing, I loved Laser Hockey on Wii Play so fancy something a little different. Only concern is in the Youtube vids the physics just don't seem to look quite right.

Just for that, Dan, you also deserve that explosion of a comments thread... though it still makes me laugh when I read it ;-)

I've just realised that I spelled "lycanthrope" wrong. THE JOKE IS NOW RUINED.

Not really only for natives. Got it after a few seconds, nice word play.

I meant I didn't notice the misspelling, the joke was obvious. Keep it up Dan!
