These are from Russian site Igromania. We thought they wouldn't mind because they've never heard of us and if they have it's because they were probably bugging our phones and cars or something else KGB related. Promise. Please don't hurt us if you are Russian. Zangief wouldn't.

I'm a bit disappointed that it seems to be keeping the 80s vibe of RA2, rather than the grimier 40s vibe of RA1, but I love the water buildings and the Tesla boats. More of that, please!

Really, it looks a bit like RA2 in the Generals engine, which I guess is OK.

well this is just gonna be 'Generals 2'.
would have been cool if they kept the cartoony vibe of RA2. if they had done it in a kind of Street Fighter 4 style that would have looked awesome but this is gonna just be more Generals with different skins on the vehicles.
EA just sucks the character out of games.

Sad, but true. Look at C&C3 - it ticked all the boxes for cheesey FMV, nice graphics, having Kane in - and yet it just left me completely cold. It was soulless. Saying that though I do think they need do even more than this; by the time this comes out the first C&C will have been released 13 years ago, and yet the smart money will be on RA3 being an update on a slightly larger scale with better graphics.

You just can't play the same game for over a decade and not lose at least some of what made you excited about it in the first place.

Looks good to me, wouldn't want EA to change the formula; they'd only mess it up

I'm still worried, westwood was never the same after RA2.

Westwood was just a name after RA2; the team disbanded, so to speak.

Hence the abomination that was Generals. C&C3 was a better return to form, but still wasn't great.

Sadly these are real. Hope that they're alpha build.

Although online co-op campaign confirmed FTW.

It looks nice but it seems to be lacking a certain degree of character. Should be good though.

THERE'S A RED ALERT 3!!?

Wow, I really need to start properly reading games news again. I've spent 100s of hours on C&C Red Alert and especially Red Alert 2, so seeing those Tesla coils and Soviet blimps brings a tear to my eye! Can't wait for these games!

I'm not sure why there's so much hate being shown towards these screenshots. They look fine to me - they've kinda kept a weird cartoony style, more fitting of Red Alert 2, rather than going for the whole gloomy photo-realism they tried for CNC3. What's the problem?

I think this will be to RA2 as Starcraft 2 will be to the original. Better graphics, 3D and with a few new units, otherwise unchanged.

I got a sinking feeling that EALA won't be able to pull off RA3 as in they killed Westwood admittedly
and they are the only people who can pull off a RA3. Meaning C&C3 could turn out to be a fluke :S

I don't know man, something dont feel right, RA2 has by far the most successful RTS games of all time
its going to take alot to ...............

/really liked C&C Generals

/thinks that people who laugh at C&C Generals and look hopefully to Starcraft 2 should know they have the same lead designer

Online co-op equals a yes from me. Yes, yes, yes!
Otherwise... no.

I still need to play C&C3. Bring it to the PS3 already.

A designer is only as good as the brief he gets.

C&C Generals: generic war game devoide of all the personality and fun of the proper C&C franchise. A classic EA mistake.
One they thankfully corrected with Tiberian Wars and hopefully RA3.

StarCraft 2: sequal to one of the most beloved RTS games of all time that does stay faithfull to the concept.

I'm done with these generic RTSs. C&C3 bored the hell out of me. I like the C&C world but the seriously bland gameplay is as passe as invading Belgium to get into France. SC2 is the same.

Not impressed at all, sadly. I love Red Alert and I loved C&C3 so I'm sure the gameplay will be good but I just don't like the look of it. It doesn't 'look' Red Alert.

Lets face it, in an FPS it is hard to tell anything from the graphics because it is in the gameplay where they differentiate themselves. But I am not holding out too much hope for this.
The best FPS I played in a long time was Supreme Commander and in my opinion has yet to be bettered. Company of Heroes came close.

Personally, Red Alert 2 was my favourite RTS ever - multiplayer on the oil-rig maps (no gold or ore mining), with engineers sent out into the wilderness alone to capture strategic positions, made it a genuinely fast-paced and frantic affair. Just like modern warfare is. I cannot stand futuristic RTS games which basically revert to 18th Century speed and tactics of carefully building and manoeuvering units onto a field equidistant between two bases, before lining up and having at each other.

I like strategy to be brutal, dirty and fast.

Is every weapon energy based? What happend to the good 'ol bullet? I don't suppose you can really show off your shader prowess then though.

The ott lighting and overused glow effects kind of kill this for me. It looks like a war in a pristine operating theatre.
