COD: WAW for PC now half-price News

PC News by Ellie Gibson

12 August, 2009

The PC version of Call of Duty: World at War is currently cheap at half the price on Steam.

CODWARS will usually set you back £29.99 but is now being offered for £14.99. Quick sticks, though - the offer ends tomorrow.

The game is set during the war and features lots of guns. For a more informative description and to learn why it's worth a whopping 8/10, read our review.

Well, that is arbitrary... If it was CoD4 I might be interested but more WW2?

I bought this for £14.99 in the same Steam deal a couple of months ago. It's OK, and with co-op and multiplayer it's worth the asking price.

I always hoped CoD 4 would be on a similar deal at some point, but it's pretty much been more expensive than shops since day one.

Hmm, was tempted then read the review.

Doesn't read like an 8... skipping, but more discounts please :)

I really don't think it's worth an 8, but it is better than average.

Call of Duty: WaW wasn't too bad, it was moderately enjoyable and reasonably well-made but it paled alongside the Infinity Ward developed games. The WWII setting also now feels very dated, both literally and conceptually, and I'm personally getting very tired of it (it's the thing that's putting me off Wolfenstein to be honest). It was better than CoD 3 though (and less buggy!) so £15 is a good price for it now.

I think it's a brilliant game, well worth a punt at this price. I like this and COD4 just as much as each other though.

Definitely worth it for the co-op and the Nazi Zombies mode, and the main game is good for at least one playthrough on single-player. Multiplayer's based heavily on COD4, so that's good too.

Worth it I'd say, and you get all the map packs for free (a little late, but still free).

Anyone noticed that it's now the same price as the original Call of Duty on steam? Yep CoD1 costs £14.99 in this part of the world. (http://store.steampowered.com/app/2620/)

Got it cheap the other day for PS3... it reminds me of very old COD or MOH to be honest, dont like the jumping from US to Russian forces.. I like having more of a story/link between levels... that has also been done so many times before. I do like the look of the Zombie stuff though, nice simple concept.
