Civ Rev DLC heads PSN weekly update News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

7 August, 2008

Sony has updated the PlayStation Store with a Wonders & Artefacts pack for Sid Meier's Civilization Revolution, which costs GBP 0.69.

There's also a fresh trio of songs for Guitar Hero III by three artists signed to the Interscope Records label: Marilyn Manson, AFI, and Flyleaf. Cost, as always, is GBP 3.99.

Following is a demo for run-of-the-mill PSP action game Secret Agent Clank, which you could simply read our Ellie review of.

Sony has added more episodes of Movement, the SingStar the documentary where two guys trek across Europe looking for new local musical talent.

All that and a Dead Space: Loved Ones trailer from E3, the one made by Saw director James Wan.

One thing that hasn't emerged though is the promised Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09 demo. We're checking to find out why.

Does that mean we still don't have the Soul Calibur downloads on the EU store? Every other region seems to have them, as do all regions on the 360.

@myiagros - It's a selection of extra wonders and artefacts to find/build in the game, I think 4 wonders and 2 artefacts. I don't think there's any official list anywhere, but a couple of examples from a forum post :

"For me, I like the Wonder that allows your Galleys into deep sea, and Scotland Yard that prevents Spies from kidnapping your great people. Everything else seems weak..."

The blurb on the store re the Civ pack states:

Included are: Ancient Wonder: Lighthouse of Alexandria, Medieval Wonder: Leaning Tower of Pisa, Industrial Wonder: Scotland Yard, Modern Wonder: SETI, Artifact 1: Camelot, Artifact 2: Tower of Babel

To be fair, with Civ Rev being such a cut-down version of the main game, any big additions could break the game. The galleys and spies are good additions though and the artifacts could make a difference in the early stages. Other than extra civilizations I can't think of anything big they can add to it

I'm getting quite tired of the entire DLC concept now.

Novelty worn off eh? The Civ one was a nice surprise earlier when I opened up the Store. Most of the time I get frustrated with the inevitable delays of everything!

"Artifact 1: Camelot"

On second though, lets not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.

Map editor. Full skirmish mode type thing (particularly being abe to govern AI behaviour). Many more scenarios. Play by mail type online mode. The ability to change the noise horsemen make, to two halves of a coconut banging together.

I realise these might be big asks.
