Circle of Doom gets Euro date

Kingdom Under Fire in February.

Microsoft has trumpeted that Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom will be out across Europe on 1st February.

It is the best part of a year later than we had previously expected it; presumably developer Blueside felt it needed more time to polish things like four-player co-operative play.

Circle of Doom is an action role-playing game that departs slightly from the strategy (think Dynasty Warriors-like) roots of the series. The idea is to run around and kill things in brutal and glorious fast-paced combat, using combo attacks and fancy special moves to put an end to their wretched lives.

Blueside is also keen to tout its random map generator, which apparently will give you and your friends an endless sea of areas to explore to gain experience and treasure from.

Head over to our Kingdom Under Fire: Circle of Doom gallery to see how it is shaping up, or quest your way to the official website for much more information.

Do they really want to call a 360 game "Circle of Doom", bit to close to Red Ring of Death for my liking :-s

Not to mention Kingdom Under Fire (MS being attacked).

Is this a good thing for Blueside? Getting their game associated infamously with the disatrous ROD or perhaps benefitting from the free attention pulling that the game would not otherwise garnered as much on its own?!

Waiting on review as not too sure as good as previous iterations as a very different kettle.

    screens look pretty impressive.
    I'm not a fan of hack/slash though.

The mixture of strategy with melee battles was one of the strongest parts of the original games - if the strategy element has been omitted from this game I can't help but feel it will the worse for it. Plus the prospect of a random map generator sounds awful.

And could they make it a bit easier this time? Heroes was ridiculously difficult.

I've got my eye on this one, previous games were decent and the thought of 4 player action RPG online sounds promising!

The game has been made easier, and also, whilst it's not a strategy game, it's not a straight hack and slasher either, it is a hack and slash RPG. It's a different style of game.

Most of the info you can find on the IGN blog for the game because the website hasn't been updated in months.
