Casino, Inc. Reader Review
I'm surprised you're even reading this review. Casino Inc. is not exactly the most popular game the computer has ever seen. In any case, I have played it, and it doesn't disappoint me at all.
Build your casino!
As you can probably see in the name of this game, you have to build a well-running casino. This sounds pretty boring and cheap ("wuh, another of those stupid Tycoon-like games..."), but infact it's very funny put in this game. Of course the gambling-attractions are the most important in this game. Most of them are supported: Poker, Craps, Blackjack, that sort of stuff. You just have to place it, hire some staff, et voila. You got your first attraction. The same goes for entertainment (Movie Theater) and stuff for eating and drinking. Guests in this game come in different kinds, so you will have to configure your attractions so all lots of 'em can find something in your casino to do. Don't expect to see a High Roller take on a high-stakes match with some Trailer Trash! You can edit the stakes at attractions, style at entertainment (like jazz at a DJ or Musical at a Movie Theater) and costs. In the end it's obviously the intention to get a better position in the city between the other companies.
Not just inside...
The fact that makes this game extra remarkable is that you can also move out of the casino and take a look at the city streets. You can buy advertisements, look in other person's casinos, restaurants and such and you can also take a look at the city's bussroutes, or create some for your own so it can pick up guests from highly-touristic spots like the railroad or hotels. Limo's are also available, but you don't have to create routes for them; they just crouse around, trying to pick up High-Rollers.
Cheating? Nah, that's just for fake gamers...
The last cool thing about this game is a fact that all casinos has problems with - cheating. In games you hate it, but in this game - you're gonna love it! Although... it works a bit different than you're thinking right now. I'm not talking about cheat codes like "infinite money", no I'm talking about people you can hire to go cheat or make trouble in other peoples's casinos! But these people have to come to you first, untill one of your Floorman (security-guy) detects him cheating and you send one of your bouncer to go "talk with them"... They then might offer their services and there you go! You've got Cheats, Troublemakers and even - Yup, real 47s - Hitmen. Just send them to some place and trust me - they'll do their job; just so long they're not getting beat up by other peoples's bouncers!!!
Don't think of this game as some sort of fake simulation - it's fun and creative! Building you're own casino is cool!
