Call of Duty: The War Collection spotted

Retailers list WWII-themed three-pack.

Listings from online retailers suggest a new Call of Duty compilation pack, The War Collection, may be coming to retailers this June.

Pages from Amazon and Gamestop online stores both describe the Xbox 360 collection as containing Call of Duty 2, Call of Duty 3 and Call of Duty: World at War for $59.99.

While Amazon lists the collection for a 1st June release, Gamestop's page suggests it will ship on 8th June.

An Activision representative did not respond to a request for comment.

    60 USD?! Really, Activision?!
What you need, Activision, is to try and regain some goodwill from gamers. Not create more. Sheesh.

I would pay £20 for this pack at the most and I would expect a Call of Duty 1 XBLA download voucher to be included too.

Call of Duty 2 is the only title that's exceptional.

There's something about the word 'exploit' that makes it feel dirty even as you say it, isn't there?

I dunno, considering that World at War is still a pretty recent game for which most stores still ask $40, I don't think that $60 for this pack is an unreasonable price. It means that both CoD2 and CoD3 are $10 each in this pack.
I think the Activision hate is clouding everyone's judgement. Besides, no one forces you to buy this.

@Eraser - Call of Duty: World at War is only £9.98 brand new @ Gamestation right now - PS3 and 360 versions

Activision need to get as much as they can from CoD before the quality drop off is noticed with their new stuff. Awesome.

awww christ...that means well get more fucking plebs playing CoD3. It was bad enough when it became available on GoD. Fucking idiots think they can play it like MW, and when that doesnt work out for them, they resort to TKing and general fuckery.

I'd kind of be interested in this if it was for the PC. I've not played a COD game since the expansion (United Offensive) for the first one. I just realised that was nearly 6 years ago now!
  • ChthonicEcho #14 2 years ago

    @Eraser

World at War costs 30 USD in most places, and Call of Duty 2 and 3 are dirt cheap. Even if all of their individual prices comprised 60 USD, the idea behind packages is for it to have a lower price than if you bought each item individually. Also, why this collection, in particular? Why now?

No, I don't think all the negativity is misplaced here.

my favourite Call of duty which is COD2 is pretty much dead online,i sit in that lobby for ages with 1 or 2 other people, all hoping and wishing just one more person can join so we can at least get a 2 Vs 2 going on,its a grand day when it happens

Exploitation is more children working in factories, that kind of thing.

Bundling games comes somewhere down the list of bad things to do. But anyway....Damn you Bobby! Damn you to hell!
  • metalangel #17 2 years ago

    CoD3's multiplayer was utterly sublime.

I doubt there's many players left, which leaves you with the forgettable singleplayer mode.
  • Fab4 #18 2 years ago

Still plenty of people playing CoD3 multiplayer....a multiplayer which pisses over any CoD MP that came after it, I hasten to add...even with all the glitches and netcode bugs.

1hr long matches with 24 players, on maps that are well designed in terms of choke points and angles of fire, with weapons that arent nerfed, fired by players who arent nerfed. I wish all CoDs were as shit.
  • deadlock17 #19 2 years ago

CoD3 and World at War sucked. Actually, WaW was OK...
  • Jim_Lahey #20 2 years ago

COD 3 multiplayer was decent. I spent hours and hours on it when it first came out on PS2. Was an excellent online game for the old system. And the 360 version is great as well. You dont get kniffed from 30 feet away when your killer is looking the other way to.

    I already had a

"Trip to Jersey: Call of Duty Free"

    But thanks.

The oldest game is going to be the best one in that package. I think some people hate them because compared to MW2 the whole world war 2 thing gets boring Personally it doesn't matter to me as long as the game is good.
