Buzz! for PS3 and PSP this spring

PSP version with over 5000 questions.

Sony has told Eurogamer that it's hoping to release the PS3 version of Buzz! Quiz TV at "around the same time" as the newly announced Buzz! for PSP this spring.

Both quiz games are in development at Relentless Software just up the street from us (hi guys!), and the new PSP version has some interesting multiplayer modes and six new round types with questions covering a variety of subjects.

These include music, celebrities, TV, sport, science, nature, movies and general knowledge, with over 5000 questions in total and around 1000 pictures and videos to help things along.

New round types include Quickfire Challenge, Picture This and Virus Challenge, while the multiplayer is suitable for people with multiple PSPs and multiple copies, multiple PSPs and just one copy, or just one PSP and just one copy of the game.

The latter mode is called Pass Around - you hand the console between yourselves, and sometimes you can choose who to pass it to in order to target their ignorance. You can also select which section of a photograph they will see when their job is to guess what is pictured.

Meanwhile Game Sharing supports Fastest Finger play off one copy of the game, while the two-to-six-player Quiz Host Mode actually lets one of you control the quiz, asking questions and even awarding or deducting points.

And if you've got no friends, you can always enjoy 15 different quiz challenges on your own, each with bronze, silver and gold medals.

Can't imagine the PSP version working as well as the other versions

Ooh, ooh. My last reason for using BC on PS3 looks to be soon gone! Can't wait for the PS3 Buzz. PSP doesn't sound bad either, my wife liked the Who Wants to be a Millionaire homebrew a lot.

I can see the PSP version being ideal in the right situation.

Of course, for sitting at home on your sofa getting lashed with friends, or with your family at Xmas, you want the big screen version.

But imagine being on holiday, sitting on a long train ride, chilling with beers after an evening of snowboarding, camping trips. I dunno, you get the point, anywhere with mates that isn't at home.

Sounds like they have put some thought into not just porting the PS3 version, resulting in everyone straining to see a small screen at the same time.

Well i was excited for Buzz! PS3 but after the god-awful lack of updates etc..for Singstar etc...the whole 'buy more questions' seems rather disheartening now!

Well, there is also a user creation component where everyone can create new question sets and make them available to all, apparently, so that should help!

That reminds me, we should have new songs today.

No JediMasterMalik, sadly not. The next Singstar update is this week, not yesterday. Theres only about 10 songs in the update, and they don't appeal to me.

Yeah my wife would love that, as she is Who wants to be Millionaire fan too, but suspect its really because of Chris Tarrant.
