I'm still a bit curious as to why they're not saving a significant addition like this for the inevitable sequel.

Whn you inevitably wipeout on the bike, will you go flying off or will you stay locked on the bike?

They had better implement a proper rag-doll. Which I've yet to see done convincingly in a biking game.

When the bikes crash, the riders disappear instantly, just leaving the bikes to smash to bits n pieces.

Is that what Burnout looks like on an HD telly? Jesus, I'm missing out!

Criterion have already confirmed that your body disappears the instant you crash, so there will be no ragdoll physics unfortunately.

This is because DLC must have the same age rating as the original game and ragdoll physics would bump the game up to a higher rating.

Sucks, I know. :(

Well, the Burnout series has never featured human figures driving the cars, so it's not like they're not delivering something that's part of the integral Burnout experience.

The shots don't appear to be at native (i.e. 720p) resolution, so it doesn't look *quite* that good on an HD TV - but it's not far short - this game is certainly still one of the best head-turners on the current platforms, and it does shine up rather well on an HD telly.

I believe the PC version when released will of course support much higher resolutions than the PS3 / 360 versions.

Well, when I crash a car I can accept no driver cos it would just be airbags and whiplash... but riders disappearing is inexcusable! Gonna look ridiculous!

Looks easily that nice IMO in HD. Certainly via HDMI. Only thing I don't like about the graphics is the lighting. It looks like someone has put a crappy orange filter over the screen and the day/night thing will be very welcome.

"They had better implement a proper rag-doll."

Criterion have allready addressed this ... there will be no rag-doll animations or riders thrown into objects - this is due to rating and not techical issues. If the game suddenly features violence not fit for the rating, this will require re-rating of the game which is not realistic since it allready on the shelves.

Personally I don't give a damn about rider crash animations - riding physics and handling is far more important!
