360 is slightly more contrasted, as per usual (and as I prefer) but other than that... pretty much identical. Maybe the tiniest bit less jaggy, but who notices that whilst driving at 200,000mph?

PS3 twice the power of a 360 my arse..... ;)

Question for you guys. I'm not really into Burnout but I just got Burnout 3 off Live and I have to admit is pretty cool. Me and my girlfriend (who loves Burnout games) didn't think much of the demo of Paradise (360), but I know EA tried to defend it after the demo was released. So anyone got the finished game think it's worth me getting this?

Love the classic Burnouts and must admit I was sceptical about the open world approach. I must say it's great in practice in the full game. It actually reminds me a bit of Crackdown the way you approach it - do what you want, collect billboards, smashes and cars and mess around with the physics.

The lack of a retry option for the events _can_ get a bit annoying if you really insist on perfecting specific challenges (Burning Routes, I'm looking at you) but in general, you can just take a fresh event back the other way.

My girlfriend also loves Burnout. This is suspicious. I suspect the developers of implanting a single frame of Johnny Depp every second.

literally just the 360 lower contrast, but you could just raise or lower the contrast on your tv to make them identical again.

My gf also likes Burnout! What's going on?! Admittedly, not enough that she can be bothered to play Paradise - but we used to play Takedown in multiplayer - shame there's no splitscreen in Paradise :(

@bad09 If you dont like the demo dont get the full game, the demo has everything the full game has to offer pretty much except you get the full city to race in. It gets a bit more funner when you unlock the faster cars.

I personally love it just razzing around finding the bill boards and doing the odd event. If your into fast continous structured racing like in burnout 3, you wont find it in paradise.

I'm amazed that EG have managed to take screenshots from both games that look so alike... I mean that crash one must have been a real challenge?

Anyways, both look identical in terms of textures, modelling and AA, only the 360 screenshots look a little darker/more contrasty. Other than that you'd be hard pressed to tell the games apart and I'm convinced EG had mislabelled a few of the pictures with the incorrect version to confuse us even more! LOL

Well done, Criterion!

Thanks dude I think I might give it a try (got to get DMC4 first!).

I dunno, my girl likes any sort of racing game (chicks dig the car!) but I think it's the mass destruction they like! My girl LOVES the crash sections, in fact she spend ages last night trying to get gold on one of the crash stages!

What the hell? My girlfriend likes Burnout too. Pretty much the only "proper" game she likes other than the Sims and WoW.

I know what you mean, sometimes the demo just doesn't do a game justice. Well I'm gonna download the demo again just to look again, as I said before I've got to get DMC4 first!

P.S. I'm seeing a pattern here with the ladies! I guess they can be bad drivers without ridicule in Burnout! (sorry to any females readers!)

See the PS3 can emulate the 360 so it runs the same graphics ! Told ya it was the most powerfull system.

Or maybe it's the other way around?

I am of the female variety and love Paradise, moreso than the previous Burnouts if I'm being honest, I hardly play it though as my fiance is always playing it (hoping to get my own copy this week).

Anyways, I'm confused, where the flip did they get those 360 screen from? I've never seen it looking so bad, I can honestly say that I don't experience those "jaggies" and even go as far as saying there isn't any...then I look at those screenshots and wonder what EG are playing on O_O!

Before anyone asks if I'm playing in Standard Def then no, I've played this on a 32" HDTV 1080i but I mainly use a 19" flat/widescreen PC monitor (because the TV belongs to t'other arf) and even though the resolution isn't fully supported by the 360 it still looks perfect (yes we need 16:10/1440x900 support please!)

@EffEmmGee - Those screenshots are taken directly from the framebuffer so what you see on your HDTV will be different because of the additional image processing that goes on prior to it appearing on your screen, the scaling (1280x720p > 1366x768p or 1920x1080i/p) and, last but not least, the actual settings on your TV, including Sharpness, etc.

Can anyone find headbog through his IP address so we can take turns making trips to his neighbourhood to punch him?!

Identical. From what I've seen they behave the same also.

I'd love to see the PS3 game that uses all of these magical extra features, and makes a better GAME out of them, as they'll make me go and buy a PS3!

While it's all video and bloat (and slow loading times), I wont bother...

Hmm, they really do look the same... So what was all the "360 owners will not be disappointed" stuff Criterion were coming out with? And why did Edge say "The PS3 version looks better"?

The only difference of any significance I can see is the second-to-last shot. Bottom left, shadows of the railings maybe slightly more blocky on 360?

nah the 360 version shows more contrast... the ps3 version looks less realistic.

And coming from someone who really hates the 360 right now (dead and gone, money up in smoke) that shows i'm not biased. The screens (at least on the other comparision thread) showed clearey the 360 had a richer, dynamic depth to the lighting.

However I will take smoother over that 'minor' difference so whichever has the least tearing and drops is the winner in my eyes. As I no longer own a 360 and don't own a PS3 I don't really care. That game didn't look that good anyway (when I tried the demo on the 360 before it's final shudder and visit from Mr E 74).

edit > should point out that once you've played crysis on high/very high on a fast PC all game lighting on consoles looks shit in comparison (PGR4 didn't look bad though).
