Burning Crusade digi download

If you can't be arsed with shops.

Blizzard has decided to provide World of Warcraft players with an option to upgrade to Burning Crusade without leaving their homes. (We're not going near that one with a bargepole.)

Presumably aimed at people who already play WOW, the new digital download option can be found on your account page, allowing you to grab the files once you've purchased an expansion key online.

A few lengthy treks aside, the Burning Crusade is obviously a good way into WOW if you've never bothered before. Beware though, because those deer will flipping have you if you're not tooled up or don't have someone riding shotgun.

Look out for more on the game soon as Rob continues to battle his way through all the high-end content on his slightly awesome new horsey. For more on Burning Crusade, which introduces a new continent, Outland, as well as tons of new quest and character content - well, we've been known to write the odd thing about it.

Errmmm ok Wonka....I have re-read your comment and I'm still a bit vague as to what you are on about? This is a WoW BC news item.

£24.99 on Blizzard, might as well save yourself a few quid and order it from play.com instead, ideally using that little 'Buy Games Play.com' banner to the left ;)

This is what I really hate about digital downloads thus far, they are trying to say "hey, because we are making things easier for you we can charge full RRP" when its the reverse. Fileplanet's Direct2Drive and Valves 'Steam' do exactly the same. Charge full RRP despite not having to pay to produce the CD, have no publisher fee and no shipping fee's etc etc. so they are get a much larger cut of the money, yet still try to rip you off by charging more .

Just checked its £24.99. I cant understand that. You can get the full boxed product for £17.99 from Play. Even Tescos is cheaper than Blizzard. Depends how lazy/rich you are I guess.

Yes I got that bit Wonka, what I was getting at was the dig at 360 on a WoW news thread.
