Burn Zombie Burn launches on PSN
DLC for LBP, PAIN, R2, COD5, more.
Sony has updated the PlayStation Store with Burn Zombie Burn for PS3, downloadable content for LittleBigPlanet, PAIN, Resistance 2, EndWar and COD5, and a PSone copy of Magic Carpet (the latter costing GBP 4.79 / EUR 5.99).
Burn Zombie Burn, developed by UK outfit doublesix, goes for GBP 6.29 / EUR 7.99, and sees players trying to hold off a horde of zombies for as long as possible in order to set a score and hopefully unlock more content.
Then there's the Resistance 2 Aftermath Map Pack, announced this week, for GBP 3.99 / EUR 4.99. Elsewhere Call of Duty: World at War fans get access to Map Pack 1 for GBP 7.99 / EUR 9.99, which is a bit more than Xbox owners had to pay but the quality is certainly there.
Then there's the PAIN Smack Pack (GBP 3.19 / EUR 3.99) and El Chile Grande character (GBP 0.69 / EUR 0.99), while LittleBigPlanet owners can grab a Buzz! costume for GBP 1.59 / EUR 1.99. EndWar and Unreal Tournament 3 fans, meanwhile, get the Veteran Map Pack and Titan Pack for free respectively.
Finally, the PSP side of the store offers Buzz! Brain of the UK for GBP 19.99, but, as ever, we're forced to point out that it's a fiver cheaper in the shops. What's going on, Sony? We'll try to find out.

No demos at all though? A tad disappointing, I usually like a freebie since I'm a big freeloader.

Cheers for that I was going to download that Titan pack tonight.

Bit of a lame update if you don't like R2.
I'm kinda interested in Zombie, but who the hell buys shit like that without a demo. Not me.

Downloaded from PSN and played straight away - it is an exact replica of pc version.
Warning , game does not accept analogue controls, so you will need to remap buttons to replicate WASD and mouse movement.
Works very well - bye bye COD4 and LBP for next week - magic carpet is a calling....

Did that one actually work?

When you say "remap" the controls (not accepting analogue - so the sticks are fine?) does the end result in any way, remain intuitive?

I also found a little review on Guardian of all places:
With a hero styled after Bruce Campbell in The Evil Dead and mechanics that involve loping around chunky cartoon arenas torching, shooting, cricket batting and dynamiting legions of zombies back to the graves in which they belong, Burn Zombie Burn really sets out its stall early. Triggering continuous waves of undead, your choices are limited to killing or setting fire to your rotting foe, with the latter increasing your score multiplier and causing them to drop different power ups when they finally meet their doom on the end of your gun, bat or smouldering bundle of TNT. With increasingly hectic and fast-moving breeds of zombie assailing you from all sides, your only choice is to herd them while frantically firing back and trawling the screen for new weapons. While not quite the equal of arena shooting benchmark Geometry Wars, this supplies snack-sized doses of ludicrous comedy destruction.

Yes. Though there were very few people to play it online with. I don't know if UT3 is still suffering in this area in general or this was down to the blink and you'll miss it (unless you refreshed the home page a few times) nature of getting the Pack in the first place.

OK. Thanks for letting me know. The strange thing now then is why did they briefly put up a working version last week only to replace it this week with an incorrect version? Perhaps last week's version still hadn't passed SCEE's certification process properly and was uploaded by mistake? Whatever it was, the EU Titan Pack release has been a proper cock-up.
Edit: As for the number of players online, it depends on when you go online. There's usually more players on late at night/very early hours of the morning. I suppose most of the UT3 players are from the U.S.

I updated UT3 using the usual update patch.
Then I installed the Titan Pack and lo and behold - no extra maps, battle modes etc.
I've check various forums and it's a global issue - although the yanks I think are free of this issue. So we'll see another update fixing this shall we ? humph!

Why not get a US account then?

The pack on the U.S Store is only compatible with the U.S version of the game.

Very much a 'survive and score as long as possible' game just like Geometry Wars. Not quite as polished or honed to perfection, but with its own interesting mechanics and risk/reward system based around the zombies and if they are... uhhh.. burning or not.
Setting a zombie on fire increases the score multiplier, but does not actually give you any points. Killing a zombie gives you points, but killing a burning zombie decreases the multiplier. So its a constant balance of getting enough zombies on fire to make the points worthwhile, but also killing them to net those points... but keeping enough 'burners' alive so the multiplier is still at a decent level.
Add in various weapons, different zombie types that need to be dealt with accordingly, controls that are NOT your standard twinstick deal (you can either strafe or automatically lock onto the closest enemy) but still work perfectly, and you have a decent enough timewaster for your £6.29 that sets itself apart from Riff and SSDHD to still be worthwhile.

Any one....
