Braid, Galaga, Castle Crashers dated
Microsoft announces "Summer of XBLA".
Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 (30th July) and Bionic Commando Rearmed (13th August) are part of Microsoft's "Summer of Xbox Live Arcade" month, apparently, and that means we also get release dates for Braid, Galaga Legions and Castle Crashers.
Next week will see the launch of Braid, a "melancholy platformer" from Jonathan Blow, which is hotly tipped by a lot of Eurogamer's pals. Blow is notably outspoken about what's important in games, and we'll be taking our time with Braid this week to give you a reasoned response on the day of release.
Then on the other side of Bionic Commando Rearmed's 13th August deployment is Galaga Legions from Namco Bandai.
Announced at E3, it's a modern take on a vintage shooter - and designed by the talented team behind Eurogamer favourite Pac-Man Championship Edition. Look for it on 20th August, and watch the painfully short E3 trailer
to whet your appetite.
Finally, on 27th August, Microsoft's releasing the long-awaited Castle Crashers. From the makers of Alien Hominid, it's a cute and violent four-player adventure delivered in The Behemoth's distinctive art style. Check out the recent trailer
for more.

Sorry, but that is the ONLY XBLA game I really, really want to play despite the fact it's an old N64 game. This could be the first game on XBLA that keeps me playing it, most of the others I tend to get bored of rather quickly. I think Lumines Live and Geometry Wars Evolved are the only two games I've played for more than a few hours!

Castle Crashers is also something I want. It's nice to finally have a date for it.

That's only on the US site - not the European one.
