Bourne and Iron Man PS3 demos

Everybody's Golf 2 demo available for PSP.

Sony has updated PlayStation Network with a couple of PS3 demos, a couple of PSP demos and a bunch of packs for PSP navigation software Go!Explore.

Demo-wise, on PS3 we have Robert Ludlum's The Bourne Conspiracy, following its release on Xbox Live the other day, along with a demo of SEGA's sadly-execrable Iron Man adaptation.

PSP, however, gets two versions of an Everybody's Golf 2 demo - one for beginners, one for intermediate players - and an Ultimate Board Games demo.

That's along with Go!Explore packs for Benelux, DACH (?), France, Italy, Scandinavia, Spain & Portgual, UK & Ireland and "Western" - the latter presumably showing you how to walk across the desert while Clint Eastwood swigs water behind you. All cost GBP 14.99.

Also on the PS3 version of the Store, Sony points out, is a High Stakes Poker video-chat add-on, and a bunch of PlayStation Day promotional trailers (e.g. "Play is full throttle" and "Play has no limitations" along with Kaz Hirai's introduction).

And if you like reskinning your consoles, you can get a Pixeljunk Monsters Encore theme and wallpaper for PS3, or echochrome wallpaper for either PS3 or PSP.

    Any news on a release date for Go!Explore? - I suspect the map packs are not going to be too useful till then. I will be using Go!Explore as leverage to convince the Mrs. that I need to buy a PSP. I hope it will be decent.

    Anyone played Bourne? is it worth? Dont have a PS3 and im not intrested in version differences. Just a pure opinion on the game from someone that has tried the game out. thnx

    Tried the 360 demo and it's not bad. The driving section is terrible but the rest is good (even with all the QTEs). It's definitely a try before you buy though.

    Yeah Bourne is pretty cool, but my only gripe is it could get quite repeditive...the punch/kick combos are very samey, but it is kinda made up for by the cool finishing moves. It does play out like a movie which is cool and is very cinematicly scripted. The driving level on the demo is shocking though...I can't see it getting more than a 7/10 here on EG. Its also packed with quick time events, which personally I don't mind but people seem to have a hate for them.

    Best to try it out if you can. I enjoyed it and might rent it out but doubt I will buy.

    Very simply:

    The fighting is good.
    The shooting is pretty good.
    The driving is rubbish.

    Try the demo, worth it for the awesome cinematic-ness of it all!

    Ok, so I used Wikipedia. I was intrigued.

    D-A-CH or DACH is an acronym used to represent the dominant states of the German language Sprachraum. It is based on the official automobile license plate abbreviations for:

    * Germany (D for Deutschland)
    * Austria
    * Switzerland (CH for Confoederatio Helvetica)

    bourne is... weird. It's very cinematic, very QTEesque, the gameplay is kinda broken, the shooting bits are tense and exciting, but the gameplay is very loose compared to every decent 3rd person shooter, the vehicle section in the demo is awful. But somehow the demo captivated me, I couldn't help but wanting to see more. Maybe because I liked the movie, and the game seems like a very faithful adaptation, even if Damon and Franka Potente aren't in it.

    It's a bit like a next gen fahrenheit/indigo prophecy, basically all you do is pressing a button when the game tells you to, and then something cool happens.

    I got to check the Bourne demo.
    I tried to download it on my 360, but the damn thing did not allow the download, stating that i "cannot download it from my location".
    Grrrrr

    I'll take the Encore theme, got the game on release and have been using the Pixeljunk Monsters theme until now.

    I'm also still not convinced Iron Man is that bad, and have been tempted to buy it - I want it more than GTAIV. Seriously. Glad I can play the demo to disuade me :p

    I had the same problem on my 360 downloading the Bourne demo, not available in you region !

    The Bourne demo was pretty good fun. As a full game i think it can get old pretty fast though. Dont think im gonne buy it unless the game is very short - about 5-6 hours could be good imo.

    The bourne demo i wasnt that impressed with. I am not a fan of quick key presses to get past the next stage... also everytime you lost then there was a 10-15 second reload time which is not very good. I only got as far as the underground level, which was alittle better than the run through the building level, so perhaps there is more depth to it... I might give it another go later (the driving sounds more interesting).

    The Iron Man demo was pretty uninspired, seemed very 1990's type old console game. The demo wasnt very long either, so you cant see if there is more depth to it...

    If haze got 4, then if these guys are any good at reviews then Iron Man should get a 2, and Bourne maybe a 4. So as you can see I'm not impressed by EG's reviewers so far, I would say Bourne is looking like a 6, and iron man is a true 4 or 5.

    My recommendation would be to rent both.
