Bonk to return on XBLA, PSN and WiiWare
Vintage platform game series gets new entry.
Hudson has announced that it's reviving its vintage 2D platform game series, Bonk, with a downloadable game for Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and WiiWare. Bonk: Brink of Extinction is an all-new game due for release in early 2010.
Brink of Extinction will blend the retro side-scrolling gameplay of the 1990 NES and TurboGrafx favourite Bonk's Adventure with contemporary graphics, downloadable content and an online co-op mode.
Big-headed caveman baby Bonk needs to save the world from a comet on a collision course with Earth in his new outing. He embarks on a journey to the centre of the planet, and will be able to morph into no less than eight different forms this time.
Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge and Bonk 3: Bonk's Big Adventure have all seen re-releases on the Wii's Virtual Console service in the last couple of years, but Brink of Extinction will be the first new Bonk game for home consoles in a decade and a half.
