I met one of my best friends teaming up in Bomberman: we blew up a ten year old and then went for pizza.

Sounds great.

The orignal was awesome, so this may warrant a buy just for online play. We'll see ^_0

2 page review when all you had to say was "Online multiplayer included!" :-)

I'm sold!

Bomberman 64 is how you create a sound "adventure" mode for Bomberman (if you believe his games need one.) NOW, these days, I'm inclined to think they do, or at least, just something else just so that you're not buying the same thing over again, but with a few bells and whistles. Hopefully an XBLA version of the crazy classic is coming, but till then, I have Atomic, so I needn't get any of these handheld also-rans. :)

WHY can't Hudson learn to just include all power ups in these games and then let players toggle them on and off at will?

BECAUSE then the perfect Bomberman would be out and no one would buy the gazillion sequels.

I bought it for the online multi but I stayed for the single player, which is bloody surprisingly good.
Shame that you did a 2 page review though, and failed to mention the flaws of the online multi (being unable to have a game with less than 8 players, bots making up the difference if you play with 2-4 real people, being unable to change your preferences such as items on or off) and the local multi with the mini-games which is just stupid design.
Everytime you finish a mini-game, you have to exit completely in order to change the game!

The remote detonators, combined with the kick/punch was the best game thing ever! Sliding/bopping it along a corridor, stopping it on cue and unleashing the fiery beast within right in your friends stinking black face was great! Any bomberman game without the detonators automatically sucks ass, and there is not one single good reason not to include them.

And so the ancient SNES version is still to be bettered, and with a console as ace as the DS available, Hudson should hang their heads in shame. SHAME!

Bomberman Hardball on the PS2 is pretty great (the battle mode, naturally, not the somewhat average sports games). Has all the items you could possibly want. No online, though. Or rabbity things.
