Blu-ray District 9 GOWIII demo US-only
Sony's European plans are a secret.
Sony has said that Europe will not receive a God of War III demo with the Blu-ray release of film District 9.
"The District 9 deal is for the US only," a spokesperson told Eurogamer this morning. "We'll announce our plans for the GOWIII demo in due course."
Europe will also not receive the God of War Collection, which also contains the GOWIII demo, this year, nor a PlayStation Network demo before 2010.
Thankfully, however, PlayStation 3 games are region-free. The God of War Collection, which also contains 720p versions of God of War I & II, is released on 17th November in the US. Don't bother importing District 9, though, as films are region locked.
God of War III is one of many playable games (read our hands-on impressions of the demo elsewhere on the site) at the Eurogamer Expo this week. The Leeds leg is done, and the road team travels to London today for Friday and Saturday's show.
Tickets are long sold out, but you can keep up with the action over on the Eurogamer Expo blog.

I don't think there's anything weird about the combo. Haven't seen the pricing yet, but if it's reasonable, I'm happy to spill the money to play a version of GoWII that doesn't look like crap. Lowering the resolution in the second game was an understandable decision because they wanted bigger and more epic levels, but it also made the game look god-awful. At least for me it's hard to appreciate the art direction and scenery in a game that runs sub-standard definition.

I was talking about GOW3 and District 9
i didn't have any problems with Gow2, apart from the screen tearing.

Well the link is actually pretty simple.
God of War is about Greek gods. Poseidon was an old Greek God around the time God of War is set. Poseidon ruled the waves and was the ruination of many sailors. Prawns lived in the sea so Poseidon was technically God of prawns. Prawns in the future live in space. Space prawns came to earth and were the ruination of a few security mercs. District 9 is about space prawns. And that is why they are combo'd together, the link is seamless! Either that or there is something about apartheid and two separate peoples struggling to live together with their own sets of rules that often oppose the others, but its probably the prawn thing.
Look out of God of Prawns coming soon from SOE.

Sorry, which part are you all upset about? That EG said Bluray films are region locked (when as we have discovered, some are but not all)?
You need some perspective mate, and maybe a glass of milk. If that is enough to get you frothing at the mouth I can only imagine how upset you get trying to do your Xmas shopping in a busy high street.

None that I know off, Demons' Souls and Blaz Blue worked fine
Only game that did prove a hassle was Disgaea 3, but they fixed it know.

Where "a secret" can mean: lolz, shit or farcical.
In the case of releasing demos & co-ordinating PSN, at least.
edit: sorry Toothball, didn't notice you'd written 'non-existent' right above my post!

Sweet jesus, I was using the word sarcastically. Regardless, you are being far too angry about something so unimportant.
Some Bluray film discs are region locked, some aren't, and EG was loose in suggesting that all Blurays are region locked. Stop for two seconds and ask yourself if that is really something to get even slightly wound up by? Seriously man, it just doesn't matter. At all.
Edit: here is a good litmus test. Imagine you described the source of your techno-anger to your grandma. If she would think you are being mental for no reason, you probably are.

What, all of them? What if they haven't read the manual, or imported any games or films?
I own a PS3, and honestly I can't tell the finer details about regioning when it comes to games and films. Its not because my mind isn't capable of holding the information, its because I have never deemed it even remotely important enough a subject to look into. And you know what, it has never yet made a difference.
This feels like it is shaping up to the one of those "you aren't a proper gamer if you don't know the blueprints of your PS3 off by heart" situations.

That would be nice, but I think you're overestimating people with that. Sadly. It can be surprising how little supposedly well-known info about their toys people know sometimes; I've had people ask me if PS3s play DVDs because such a big deal was made of Blu-rays! :/

They are normally very good with their information so I'll believe them for the moment.
