Blood Bowl gets UK release date

Xbox 360 version to follow PC, PSP and DS.

THQ has announced a release date for Blood Bowl, the videogame based on Games Workshop's fantasy football series.

The game was due to be published by Focus Home Interactive, but it looks like that's no longer the plan. According to THQ's website Blood Bowl is coming to PC, PSP and DS on 18th September in the UK. An Xbox 360 version will "follow at a later date".

Blood Bowl will let you build teams from armies of Orcs, Wood Elves, Humans, Dwarves and Hybrid Cat-Dolphins. Maybe not the last one. As you may have guessed there's a fair bit of gore involved, but it's also all about tactics and strategy.

Videos, screenshots and a hands-on preview can be found over on the gamepage.

Such a weird release strategy given it's been available for download for months - might pick it up for 360 though as the PC online lobby is right mess

Downloaded the PC version - and now a month later im a hopeless, washed out Bloodbowl junkie. I just cant get enough of it.

I was a fan of the board game when I was a nipper, so kind of knowing the rules helped lots as the tutorial isnt all that.

    monkfish : ultra +1

I'm absolutly addicted. When i first saw screenies I was like 'meh', but when a friend came with his DVD I completly felt in love.

Playing online is an absolute blast. Only problem to me (and somehow a big one) : Plan 1h15 for ONE game. I sometime just can't play it for 30min.

Other than that just buy it !

I've been playing the PSP version for a few weeks but I'm finding it hard. Tutorial is a bit shit I did play the original board game over 20 years ago, the one with the grid board and cardboard figures not later later versions. But the rules seem to have been lost on me. I will try and get my head around them again. YouTube will probably be the best option for me.
