BlizzCon 2008 tickets all gone News

PC MMO News by Robert Purchese

13 August, 2008

There are no more tickets for BlizzCon 2008, after waves of adoring fans pecked them up like frenzied pigeons.

Blizzard had technical problems after hordes of hungry would-be attendees ground the sales site to a halt.

Service resumed yesterday evening, but after a handful of hours all of the USD 100 tickets had gone.

BlizzCon 2008 is expected to house more than 10,000 people this October in California. Guests will get to see and play upcoming titles such as Diablo III, World of Warcraft: The Wrath of the Lich King, and StarCraft II.

There should also be plenty of people dressed as their favourite characters from Blizzard games; the murloc race from World of Warcraft is a particular crowd-pleaser.

I'll never understand grown adults going to things dressing up as their favourite computer game characters. I wanted to dress up as Darth Vader once but, I was seven at the time and he was my childhood hero.

Suppose it gives them a chance to escape their everyday lives and "be" in the world they love so much. I last dressed up as Darth Vade when I was 18. :-D

I am Murloc!

They get to have a bit of fun and we get to laugh at the resultant photos. Everyone wins.

at least it's not the plush con...

Plus I'd love for every woman to dress as seven of nine...or as blood elves from WoW
