Blacksite in November

Again, PS3 version iffy.

Midway also confirmed to us this afternoon that Blacksite: Area 51 will launch on PC and 360 in November.

However, it will definitely not be joined by the PS3 version, which looks like it might not show up until next year.

The news follows fall-out from the financial report at the beginning of October that said the game had been delayed until 2008.

But unfortunately Midway remained coy over revelations that the promised online co-operative play had been dropped from the final game, after IGN unearthed its absence in a recent hands-on play test.

Confirmation should be with us soon, hopefully.

    I think developers are lazy and would rather rush out a botched 360/pc version and 'Patch' it when a bug is found than release a better ps3 version.

    The PS3 is the better console but it is lacking in sales due to developers.

    Which is also the reason why i have a 360 as well.

    That's an odd statement - the 3D0 was a very very powerful console, but most people would call it "shit" rather than "ace, but all the games are shitty, stupid devs"

    Apologie is an apt name for being an ardent apologist for Sony!

    I likewise do look forward to Drake's Fortune and Rachet, already have excellent Warhawk but other than that, X360 have much more to look forward to on top of what already released.

    The repeatings of delays and having an inferior version compared to X360 (in majority only slight and not that noticeable) is contributing to the widen view that is so different to what was claimed by Sony. Of course there can be turnaround of fortune but only when the there are enough exclusive AAA games. Please dont talk about what will be coming, what matters is right now and right here.

    The longer this goes on, the less easy and longer it ll be for Sony to catch up and beat X360. I dont doubt that Sony can especially with the power of Sony brand however deserving, the proof of this either way is yet to be concluded.

    I'LL SAY IT AGAIN, Bioshok, Gears of War (1st November) and in time Halo 3 will all be playable in my PC... ON the other hand Metal Gear Solid 4, GT5, Drakes FOrtune, Ratchet, Killzone2, Warhawk, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, RFOM etc... are exclusives for the Ps3, and wont come out for Pc or any other system... i personaly think that the Ps3 is the best console of these generation, and it will prove it in short time no matter how much you x360 loosers want it to fail.

    And while we're on the subject of Xboxes, I expect high comedy on these forums tomorrow when/if EG reposts the article on GI.biz about how their sales have just slumped to a point where even the PS2 shifted more units over the last week...

    What are you smoking?... none of what you wrote is true....especially in the US, where the 360 outsells the ps3 5 to 1. And in the US it's thousands sold not hundreds like in Europe.

    Do you realize the Wii & 360 have both sold 7 million consoles more than the PS3 worldwide?

    The Blacksite ads on this site totally screw up on Firefox under Linux, covering any text they are beside.. I wish they test them under different platforms, not just Windows XP/Vista and IE.

    I do have a X360... my point was that Gears, Bioshok etc... beign lauched for the PC, really make me wonder why do i still have it... all the good games can be played "if not at the same time, months later", with aditional content and improved performance_ on my Rig.

    I'm not propagandizing Sony, just telling the plain honest truth. Yes, I've been highly critical of MS publishing strategy, but thats hardly "bashing" the 360 is it?

    Now that I think about it....getting your jollies because PS3 outsold the 360 one week in Europe is beyond propaganda, it's kinda sad.
    You can be criticial of MS all you want but, at the end of the day, this console generation is going to have Nintendo, MS and Sony all succeed and Sony's domination is over.
    Get used to it...they're all here for the long haul and, in truth, it's good for the game industry as a whole.

    Consider how rarely you see PS2 titles reviewed these days, never mind reading any comment about the hardware... How can a platform like that OUTSELL THE MIGHTY 360 ???

    The 360 is just another games console like the the Wii & PS3. It's only in your head that it's MIGHTY.
    How did the PS2 outsell the PS3 in the whole 2007?
    Easy...it's 250 dollars cheaper than the 360 and 400 dollars cheaper than the PS3.

    Arbiter: there's one important aspect, though. It's called Microsoft and every human beeing with a bank account has something with this brand.

    And I thought PS3 was the "mighty"... 360 got ptomoted? Ppl tend to disregard Americans because... (don't really know, actually), but they are the biggest market/economy.
