"...and then moving left Jack fired his elecrobolt plasmid at the Big Daddy. Moaning, the Big Daddy followed him moving left, pushing against an immovable table a while before firing a rocket right into Jack's face. Jack staggered back, his health at 15. Fumbling madly for a health pack, he sighed in relief as his health shot back up to full. Pulling out his rocket grenade thrower Jack fired madly again and again, strafing left and right and bunny-hopping to avoid the Big Daddy's deadly rockets..."

Exactly my thought. At least then you won't have to put a fake cover on it to stop people laughing at you on public transport.

@Garulon: Surely it's more: Jack shot another splicer in the face 50 times before it died. He reloaded his Tommy gun just as another splicer lurched from the shadows. Jack shot it in the face 49 times but the splicer was unaffected. A final, 50th bullet knocked it dead, though. Jack rummaged in his pockets and pulled out 74 lengths of pipe, 29 wires, and countless other pieces of junk. He crammed it all into the slot on a U-Invent machine, which instantly transformed it into a huge pile of machine gun bullets somehow already inserted into drum magazines. A Big Daddy lumbered around the corner as Jack shoved the 20 heat seeking rockets around in his pants pocket to one side to make room for the drums of ammo. Quickly, Jack zapped the Big Daddy with his Electroshock plasmid. He then shot the Big Daddy once with his shotgun. The Big Daddy recovered and stomped on the ground. Jack was dazed. The Big Daddy instantly accelerated to 300mph and collided with Jack, killing him. Jack jumped out of the Vita Chamber and played Pipe Dream for the thousandth fucking time to hack the security system.

Chapter 140 - the final act

"Jack's head hit the marble floor and a second later his hand dropped, lifeless. His world started to melt around him. Colourful hues dissolved into a melancholy grey; the busy sound of the room - the screaming and shouting - distorted into a slow drone. His world ended - and somewhere, deep in the core of the earth, a cog groaned, siezed and remained in place, stopping the motor of the world.

And then he popped out of a vita chamber."

Hahaha thanks EG gave me a good chuckle. Hell they should just write the whole novel from this comments section.

I can't understand why anyone would want to read a video game novel when there are so many good books out there to be read that are actually original. And the godamn Halo novels FFS, don't get me wrong i quite enjoy halo but the story is more boring than the bible.

Yay Master chief begat cortana and they did weep verily......

Except that people that read Atlas Shrugged because they think it is high-brow litterature are laughable. So it is lose-lose. Hell, I have more respect for those that read Halo fan fiction than Ayn Rand.
