BioShock Challenge Rooms dated News

PlayStation 3 News by Tom Bramwell

20 October, 2008

2K has announced that the fabled BioShock PS3 downloadable Challenge Rooms will be released worldwide on 20th November.

However, there's no word on how much they will cost to download or exactly what you will get for your money - or even if you'll be asked to pay at all.

2K has our mouths sewn shut over the Challenge Rooms content, although we can probably admit we've seen a couple of levels and played through one without bringing the full force of Take Two down upon us.

We'll be bringing you a full Challenge Rooms hands-on preview very soon, but in the meantime you can read our E3 BioShock Challenge Rooms preview for a bit of early detail and check out our BioShock PS3 review to see whether it's worth your while (it is).

And in the interests of rounding everything up, 2K has already said that the game will be patched to fix a couple of minor bugs in the meantime.

BioShock is out now on PS3.

I thought these were included on the disc?
Seems a bit of a pisser it's a paid download. I thought it was a nice bonus to make up for the delay.

It would be a bit cheeky to ask PS3 owners to pay for them when they really should have been included with the boxed game. Let's hope they *are* free even though the fact that they are DLC implies that they probably won't be.

I really do think people are now approaching games with the "what can we get people to pay for?" approach...

They couldn't charge for them. They're charging us full price for an old game, they have to give us them free. Right? Even EA have been great with the free DLC lately (one for Fifa, Army of Two, Burnout Paradise), if they can do it so can any publisher.

Is this DLC going to be available for Xbox 360?

I think it's PS3 exclusive.

It would be very cheeky for them to charge PS3 owners for it.
They should have is as free content for PS3 and paid for DLC for PC/360 players. They make their money and everyone gets to play the content.

I have the PC version of Bioshock and don't need a second copy.

Pity these aren't available as standalone downloads, might have paid for em.

"BioShock Challenge Rooms dated"

Rather like Bioshock itself, then?

;-)
