BioShock 2 Big Sister confirmed
On the cover of a magazine.
BioShock 2: Sea of Dreams will feature the rumoured Big Sister character according to US magazine Game Informer.
Following reports earlier this week, Game Informer scanned in its April issue cover, which features the lithe, rather graceful-looking Big Sister, with a familiar friend perched on her shoulder.
There's no clarification of her role yet, however, and we still don't know who you play as in BioShock 2, nor whether the game is set in Rapture and how it links in to the first game's celebrated narrative.
Publisher 2K has stepped up the teaser campaign in recent days, hinting that the game is set seven years in the future and set-up by the kidnapping of a little girl or girls from coastal towns, including one in Ireland.
Previously all we've had to go on is the original teaser trailer
of a little girl standing on a beach with a Big Daddy plush toy doing plasmid-looking things to the sand.
The game's due out for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 later this year.

They look pretty quick and agile. Wonder if they're aggressive or docile until attacked?

@Wastelander
They remind me a bit of the female black-ops agents in Half Life 1, though I'm not sure it would really be appropriate if they started leaping about all over the place.

It's not just "ooo lookz iz teh girl version cool!"
Although, seeing as it's Bioshock, it could work.

Who comes up with these accompanying taglines? They're camper than I am.

Edit: Should add that this is just gut feeling speaking.

I chose to remain happy that it's at work until something else gives me reason to lose faith, like enforced co-op or stealth sections. Or adding Mr Blobby as a character. Or making it exclusive to the Sega Saturn.

That would be a fairly elaborate joke considering the official teaser campaign contains the following (from the other article):
Then there's a newspaper clipping, "Local Girl Vanishes In Mysterious Attack", talking about the kidnapping of a seven-year-old girl, who was snatched from her bedroom by an unknown attacker who moved at "incredible speed", apparently unburdened by the weight of the helpless child.
"Due to the moonless night, [the girl's father] was unable to offer a description of the assailant," the report says. "He notes that the attacker was thin, above average height and wore some kind of 'red light'." Possibly a miner's helmet, it adds.

Yeah, thats it. Its all a big hoax. They are going to build up loads of public interest, and then go "HA, April fool, none of it is real".... and then wonder why nobody buys their game O-o
By the way, can someone explain what O-o really means. I sort of have a rough idea that is is related to sarcasm, but given that I've started using it quite a bit (as sarcasm is like the air I breath) I figure I should be exact. Just in case it is actually very rude or something.

It'll be good to see what Rapture has turned into 7 years on. They could really crank up the horror aspect on it.

Now given that we saw a bid daddy welding a section of a tube tunnel thing in the openign scenes, there is clearly maintenance going on.
So perhaps Rapture 7 years later will show the influence of its current keepers to a greater extent? Sort of like the deeper parts of the mining colony in Aliens (only without the alien goo structures), if you get what I mean.

You must have some insider info, 'cos from where I am standing, so far, we know barely anything about it at all.
Something around here is cynical, but I'm not sure it is Bioshock 2.
